Yes. I will have to start the recall journey myself. I will have to hit accept on the Tesla app when it indicates an update is available. I dread having to do this. It will be hard.

It will make it harder to defeat the attentiveness needed to keep the autopilot function working. I have no problem with that. I got a huge kick out of the TeSlA RecALl warning though in the press. Danger! Danger!

Have you seen the Tesla mass-crash scene in the new movie "Leave the World Behind" that pissed off Elon?

I saw that headline a few places, too, and felt it was a bit of clickbait. Once you find out it's just an OTA update, you feel a bit teased.

Agree. If you have a Tesla you are already accepting these on the app. I just did one that updated some minor things about a week ago. I always enjoy them because often the tweaks involve something cool even if its a small thing.

I think the Autopilot is legitimately a recall because of the safety reason it requires a software update. The recall is the governmental process rather than the manufacturer's solution implementation. My Ford Bronco was recalled for the rear camera staying on when shifting out of reverse into first gear when the transfercase is in low-range. Ford fixed it with a OTA update. I'm sure if BMW needs to do a software recall, the owner will still need to visit the dealer. How else would BMW upsell other service needs to its wealthy clientele. "Ma'am your car needs rear brakes, an oil change and coolant flush." |

No one can please all the people all the time. To be loved and hated means you're in a very large crowd...
Spoken like someone who is jealous that his circle doesn't even reach the end of the block. I'm the same, my circle is small, but I'm not jealous about it, I prefer it that way. |

It's like saying the iphone is hazardous to its owners health because people keep walking into traffic while staring down at it. Then Apple has to issue a "recall" to put a fucking warning on the screen every 5 min telling you to look where you're going. |

"In certain circumstances when Autosteer is engaged, the prominence and scope of the feature’s controls may not be sufficient to prevent driver misuse of the SAE Level 2 advanced driver-assistance feature." Your assessment and analogy is incorrect. The cell phone is not a walking aid device. Last edited by Efthreeoh; 12-15-2023 at 05:37 AM.. |

It really does sound like worship when any criticism of Musk seems to equate to people just being "jealous" of his success and that he's a worldwide figure that everyone talks about. Forgetting the fact that at the end of the day he's just a human.

I've never spoken about Elon as being anything more than human, I just remind people of the fact that he will be remembered...and they won't. Infer incorrectly from that as you will, everyone does. Ego is a terrible thing, and probably at its best on a BMW board. |
