We know that the RB race pace is strong as they did some long runs without problems yet Ferrari didn't get any meaningful long runs due to both their cars glancing the walls.

Could be an additive like top cylinder lube, power plus lubricant sells lubes that have "flavouring" (flavouring probably isn't the right word) and it makes the exhaust smell like Cherry or other scents.

Might be the esters in the oil, or ethanol in the fuel causing that sweet smell.

Stefano Domenicali made announcement few hours ago, race is on. Drivers voiced their concerns and assurances were made the area is safe.

Basically anyone important in Saudi Arabia will be at the race and their families, they said the area has all systems to protect it.

With high officials expected to attend the F1 race this weekend, it became a high-risk event.

Yesterday a Turkish F2 driver was taken to hospital:

"The FIA advises that an incident occurred during the FIA Formula 2 Practice Session today, 25/03/22, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, involving car #23, Cem Bölükbasi.
The driver has been transferred to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah for precautionary checks."

"Following medical examination, the driver of car #23 was found to have suffered a concussion and remained in hospital overnight for further precautionary checks. He has been declared unfit to race and has therefore been withdrawn from the event by the team."
