It is crazy, you can see how nervous that rabbit is in that picture. Awesome pictures.

Oh how I try!

The tricky part is of course they usually run away from me, and animal butt shots just aren't that interesting

And of course, the one time I had one running at me, I had my teleconverter on and had too much lens...

That's a "high class" problem.

You know the answer, "Try, try again." The wildlife photographer's life story.

Good looking coyote. I can't believe how green the grass is in December.

Thanks Dave. Yeah the grass up at Pt. Reyes is almost unnaturally bright green right now.

The Shortest Day

. . . . or conversely the longest night.

No sunrise or sunset shots from me today as both were a wee bit flat and disappointing here. But this evening we have had a brief display of the Aurora Borealis. Not as spectacular as some nights, but it is always nice to see.

Seen here from Lossiemouth West Beach, looking due north across The Moray Firth towards Wick and John O'Groats.

Well, clear skies may not be so great for sunrises and sunsets, but they're great for stars and Aurora Borealis. Super shot.

Sacramento NWR with Mt Lassen visible in the background. The southern most volcano in the Cascade range, it last erupted in 1915. Lassen Peak and Mount St. Helens were the only two volcanoes in the contiguous United States to erupt during the 20th century.

Was at IM Autohaus and my buddy was replacing throttle actuators on an M3. The intake plenum was off and noticed a photo opportunity.
