Thanks Dave, just got tags for the car yesterday and it stopped raining long enough to take it out and put some 93 octane fuel and enjoy a little drive with camera of course.
Posted a few others on my Flickr as well.

Nice shot, Mark. Simple things often look spectacular when you look closely.

Here's my shot from this evening:

Perfect timing, DC. Hope you're staying warm.

That seeding plant was nicely backlit, too. That's what drew my attention to it. I continued to be impressed with the G7x. It's so easy to carry around campus.

The newer G5x has a viewfinder and an articulated screen, but that added bulk makes it non-pocketable. Plus it's $300 more for the same interior hardware.

Thanks Mark.

I'm nice and cozy. Really, the problem is not getting too warm as you trudge through the woods. Long experience has taught me which jacket and how many layers underneath and when to unzip, etc. I've got a Baretta duck hunting jacket that I only wear when it's below 20-F and then only with a t-shirt. I add a long sleeve knit if it's below 10 and a sweater if it's below 0. At 0, the foot warmers go into the boots, etc. Of course, knowing the wind can change everything.

Dave

Another from our recent trip to southern Portugal.
This is taken from the near the main entrance to Palacio da Pena. Quite a magical place.

Fabulous shot Dave.
His antlers stand out so clearly against that plain, diffuse background.

Thanks Alan. That was in the "golden hour" with the sun going down behind him, to our left.

I didn't get the perspective quite right, but this is a three shot pano of a HUGE mural in Kansas City's Union Station, depicting all the railroads that at one time served the massive passenger depot. This picture doesn't do the original's size any justice.

Departing Oakland on Southwest. The airfield below is actually the closed Alameda NAS, which Mythbusters uses on thier show when they need a lot of room.

Nice clear shot, Ed. You'd think that abandoned airfield property would be worth billions. I'm surprised it's sitting empty.

The city owns the land now and they have finally found a developer after several plans have fallen through. There were and are a lot of toxic waste issues to be dealt with which is always the case of old military sites. There are some great views from over there.

Wow didn't realize I've missed a whole contest. Glad to see them going regularly again.

Here's one from this summer in NC that I never posted after the trip, have a few of those I kept to marinate and then re-think how I process them. This is one of those.
