Haha! The link above is probably a good resource. We have at least 20 old fire extinguishers piled up at the station. In the last few years, 2 have busted in the back of our patrol units; white stuff everywhere.

If it doesn't have a service company's inspection tab on it to call, look at the tags on extinguishers where you work and call that company. They are in the business of discarding extinguishers at the end of their service life, and know how to disassemble them safely.

I ASSume that California has the same commercial codes that we do here in the sticks on the east coast, where every extinguisher needs to be inspected and re-tagged annually along with a fixed service life after which it needs to be rebuilt for another so-many years.....

Good! Let the consequences of the defund movement and the anti-law enforcement sentiment take its course.

I agree. The shitty part is that the violence will most likely spill into neighboring cities.

I agree, but it already has. Some of my buddies who work for departments that deal with very little violent crime are seeing spikes.

Well at least in California the people are allowed to carry protection for themselves. And if they need to use violence to protect themselves the state understands and respects that right.

You home yet Sedan_Clan ?

Were you standing in front of the vehicle they put him him, facing him as they first walked him up? Or were you standing up near the curb of the intersection, opposite side of that vehicle?

Checking your NewsCopter 4 screen time

Yeah, I was off at 0600 hours and I promptly crashed out once I arrived home. There were so many of us on scene from four different stations, I couldn't even tell you. I would have to watch the news video coverage.

Think so? I just saw a civil service exam and job posting for "Prisoner Attendant," because "Correction Officer" is apparently a dirty word. I wonder if their job description includes fluffing mattresses, bed turn-down service every evening, and placing a chocolate mint on their pillows to make them feel welcome? Oh, and the pay is $23/hour for anyone who wants to work as a jailhouse concierge.....

I rarely/never? use this thread but wanted this question answered as I've always had the impression that living in a condo is much safer vs a detached house in terms of break-ins, violent crimes, and just in general, due to the makeup of it being enclosed, in a community, so who's gonna try to make it past the front lobby, take stairs/elevator w all kinds of witnesses and cams, etc vs an 'open'/isolated house located on the ground w windows, unless they really wanna target the individual? Is my assumption warranted? Are there situations where it's *less* safe in a condo in terms of the type of crime? Tx.

In my experience, we deal with very few burglaries at apartments or condos. Most residential burglaries occur at single-family properties. The casual passerby-opportunist-criminal can target a home much easier than an apartment, condo, etc. In general, thefts that occur at apartments, condos, etc. are from people who know the residents and who know what's inside. It's not usually random.

Since I'm at it, how much over do you need to be speeding for cops to pull you over, usually? I know technically if I'm doing 101 in a 100 I could be stopped, but, realistically? In kph if possible? Tx.

For me and most of the partners I've worked with over the years, 15-over is the threshold.
