Henry Ruggs - Nice way to throw away a career
So freakin sad, a 23 year old woman is dead because this moron was driving 156 mph while shitfaced. Yes, 156 mph. And he wasn't even on the interstate, he was on a local road with speed limits of 25-45 mph. Her life is over and so is his.

I watched this story on the news last night. Truly horrible, and my wifes first comment..."He'll get off"
I can't imagine the bystanders trying to rescue this poor woman and can't because the flames are too great and all they can do is stand there |

His life isn't over. He'll be out in 5 years. Just wait. There is no justice anymore.

I read that her car was hurled 570 feet after impact. That's the length of one and a half football fields. Let that sink in.

im not so sure hes out in 5.
if it was a normal dui and he killed someone, maybe. if it was a normal high speed run and he killed someone, maybe. the fact that both are combined and he was so high over the limit, i dont see him getting much leniency. I read hes facing a max 46yrs in prison. add to it he is likely looking at the raiders taking back most his signing bonus, and he will be lucky to have a cent to his name after that and whatever the girls family gets him for, so hes no longer a rich nfl player, but a broke former nfl player and not able to pay his way out of it.

And even if he doesnt spend his productive years in jail I cant see him ever being in the NFL anymore. Usually when you screw up you have to go down-market. But he already was a Raider, the team that historically would take the problems. Once they dont want you where else would you go?
Zero sympathy for his ass |

The new vettes have telemetry in them, and its a vette. While not a veryon has plenty of juice to hit that speed, just need a straight road.

Roads in Nevada you can hit high speeds quickly and he was in a corvette but this looks like the metro areas. DUI manslaughter and possession of a load firearm. I don't think he gets off even with Johnnie Cochrane. His career is over will spend his peak years in prison.

All new cars have a "black box" that the investigators can down load. There is tons of information like speed, breaking, acceleration etc. Then there is the physical evidence at the scene that the reconstructionists can use to determine speed, breaking etc. Debris, yaw marks etc paint a really clear picture.

I was watching some ESPN and other sports shows yesterday and couldn't believe some of the talk about him. It's not sad he may never play again. Fuck him!! Even if he got no jail time, he should be out of the league. Only thing that should be talked about is how some poor woman was killed by this fucking moron!! It's a shame he lived. That's typical in these scenarios unfortunately. The drunk idiot makes it and kills others

Reckless driving, twice the blood alcohol limit, two dead. They’re going to make a example out of this dude to make a point that others won’t get away with this stupidity. I’ve got no sorrow for him whatsoever. It wasn’t a mistake, every team has a free limo service for its players bc they know a lot of them are young guys that have recently come into money and many of them are going to want to party it up. However much time and penalties he gets isn’t going to be as bad as the other person losing their life, and what make it worse is to be doing this after losing a close friend to similar circumstances.

"I do sit back and I think — did I not let him know that I’d be there for him at 3 a.m.? I want to be better. Could I have been better to help? I just wish I could have done something." They are friends. what do you want him to say? fuck him i wish he was dead? if someone you were close to made an idiotic decision, would you disown them?

Was reading that bystanders heard her screaming while her RAV4 was engulfed in flames and couldn’t get out. What a horrific way to go. Also, this clown was acting like an idiot at the hospital. Is 20 years satisfactory? And speaking about him playing in the NFL again, NO CHANCE. Gruden will be banned from the league for things he said eons ago while this idiot killed someone and her dog. Tell me, what’s worse?
