Force india takes the prize for having the ugliest car revealed so far. I don't know how anyone could be proud to show off that front end and a shark fin that looks like an afterthought. I thought we moved passed those horrible noses, but boy was I wrong!

The noses aren't too bad compared 2014... variety actually shows each team's philosophy, but the shark fins are really aesthetically bad.

I wonder if there's actually a team that won't be using a sharkfin. Rumor is RedBull and Mclaren cars will not feature a sharkfin but that remains to be seen.

As much as it pains me to compliment anything having to do with HAM, that is an absolutely gorgeous car.

W08 might feature the fin afterall. All depends on winter testing results.

http://www.pitpass.com/58326/Mercedes-may-yet-use-fin

Quote:
Never mind the fact that the cars we have seen thus far do not look particularly "aggressive" or "mean", one of the main talking points has been the horrendously large dorsal fin - or airbox sail as some are euphemistically calling them - that most of the teams have opted for... except Mercedes.
While Williams has sensibly covered theirs with Martini branding, and Renault has attempted to blend theirs in with the rest of the livery, the fins on the Force India (top) and Sauber are particularly big, bare and ugly.

While the W08 was sporting a tastefully small fin on track today, along with (what the team calls) a 'T-wing, the team's Engineering Director, Aldo Costa, went and spoiled it by admitting that the team will be using a larger 'sail' in Barcelona next week.

"We have seen many pictures of other cars, but from now until the first race we will have a continuous programme of evolution," he told reporters.
"As you see, the launch spec was without the little T-wing, and then we tested it, and we will carry on in Barcelona day by day testing different configurations. We will also have a longer tail configuration to be tested in combination with new rear wings for Melbourne."

"The car in essence from now until Melbourne will change all the aerodynamic surface," he added.

I guess Im in the minority here but I actually like the sharkfins. I think they make the cars look more aggressive and go well with the slanted back rear wings.

The AMG does look very nice from certain angles, and looks kind of stretched in others. Soo many details on the car, the longer you look, the more you start discovering.

One thing I dont like on the AMG are those little wings right infront of the bargeboards. They look like wiskers being blown back by the air. Im sure they are shaped like that for a reason but they look weird to me. Other than that.. I think the car looks pretty good.

The only shark fin type structure I wouldn't hate and that's trying really hard to not hate it.

Terrible news... looks the Mclaren Honda MCL32 is has the damn shark fin too. =(

Scuderia Ferrari SF70H

Not feeling it... retained white, looks like another subpar year.

Seb probably just wishes it was December 2017 so he can move on to Mercedes.

Ferarri best sharkfin, no doubt.

Each team should be required to have a national flag and the driver's number on the new sharkfins. they look so weird when they are blank ahem......... force india.

Agree with most of the comments here. on these shark fins....Mercedes appears to have the most tasteful version. It will be interesting to see the evolution of form/function as the season progresses into next year on this aero.

I loved the McLaren in prior years...not loving the carrot top livery this year. Maybe it will look better on track.

Is Bottas getting the stink eye from Hamilton yet? I'm hoping a rosberg type rivalry springs up fast at merc. Want to see Bottas do well.

The McLaren looks decent! I actually like it (sans shark fin). The ferrari on the other hand looks kind of boxy from certain angles -- almost like it was put together using lego pieces. I really hope someone gives Merc a challege this year, but their car seems so much more well-rounded and sorted than the others. Also, redbull promised a "sexy" 2017 car. We'll see how that pans out.
