How to Hang Flag/Banner in Garage

Hi,

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just picked up a flag/banner at a local car show, and just curious what folks used to hang one in their garage. Staple gun, metal tacks, nails? The side I'm thinking about hanging on is drywall, so was just curious what would work best.

TIA!

I have the same finished walls. Thumb tacks work fine with lighter stuff and your flag would qualify as lighter stuff. It will create the least impact to your finished walls.

I know you've already decided on a solution, but here's what I did. I have an ///M banner that I bought at the Long Beach Grand Prix a few years ago. I have a finished garage but it has a beam running cross the garage directly over the cars. I hung my banner using a couple of paper clamps, the small black ones that have two silver "levers" on them. First I clamped them to the banner, one at each end and one in the middle, folding the outside lever down and leaving the inner lever up. Then I used small finishing nails at the top of the beam and hung the paper clamps on the finishing nails. Works great, it's never fallen down.

Nice garages. I'm picturing a big roundel in the same location, once you get ready to try painting. And gotta admit, I don't have the courage to hang tires up over the car - know that it must be way over-engineered, but it still gives me the willies.

Got plenty of Lag bolts in it. I can do pullups on that Remember, you can't have a random catastrophic failure on all bolts at the same time. It's like worrying about the garage door falling on the car

Yeah, didn't want to get you worrying - more a sign of my own internal neurosis. They look so slick, that I suspect I'm just needing to get over it and will put one up myself once I come around (or get sick of trucking them out to the shed).

And you really have set up a great shop in very little room - digging the sink and air power; an inspiration for me once the crappy weather finally ends. Are the floor tiles holding up well? they look great and I'd been considering them - my floor is too crappy to paint, but basically solid and flat so I'm thinking of doing something like that.

Did you get the tire rack from Tire Rack? (lol) I ordered one from there, but have been too lazy to install. Plus, I need to get a stud finder.

I have 2 of the Tire Rack wall tire storage racks, one over each car. Initially, I had the same reservations but installed them after I put in some Gladiator cabinets. I tested them by doing pull-ups off of them (apparently, that is is a thing....lol). No heaving or strange sounds or movement so I figured they'd be good. They've been cycled through at least 7 seasons so far and are still rock solid.
