Is the GT350R worth 100k

Ive been scouring the internet and calling a bunch of Ford dealers for this car and it seems like this could be the number that these dealers will let this car go for.
A 100k mustang is hard to swallow but this thing is so damn sweet.

Mack Haik in Houston had one in Avalanche Grey a couple months ago. Seems like I could've negotiated a deal with them, $68k MSRP

I don't think you'll get an MSRP deal yet. According to the Mustang forum 7-10k over is doable now, but it still takes work.

I have a non-R GT350 and really like it, I'm sure the R is even better, but there is no way I would pay 100k for it.

I haven't driven or been in either, but from an aesthetic point of view I think that the regular GT350 looks much better than the GT350R. So no way in hell would I justify paying that much for what to me is an uglier looking car that just has some fancy CF wheels, an aero kit, and slightly better handling.

I haven't driven an R either, but from everything I've read from reviews and forums say it is considerably better than the regular GT350. The CF wheels are the real deal and are very light.

At 100k though, you could buy a regular GT350 and almost make into an R for cheaper. Even though the wheels are around 14k. Switch the springs/suspension bits, delete the rear seat, add the spoiler, splitter for 20ish grand and you are close.

I say the same thing about the GTS M4.

Got to decide if the GT350R has things you care about over the normal GT350.

The areo package and CF wheels are the bits that are really expensive to upgrade to off a normal GT350. The rest is easy to do. Suspension changes are the front springs, and rear sway bar. Springs are cheap from Ford, and easy to swap when you toss on camber plates for track duty. Tires are of course easy. Rear seat delete is $740 from Ford if you care.

While the GT350R is worth every penny over a GT350 at MSRP vs MSRP, Its questionable at current advertised prices.

For me its hard to justify it as With the same Engine, Brakes, Suspension design, and seats. Toss on forged rims with proper tires for track days if thats your thing.

seriously, no car on this planet is worth 100k when c7 z06 starts at 80k and eats you for breakfast.

gt350R at 5k-7k ADM is a steal tho, at MRSP you should be laughing every day.

Same old story, dealer gets "hot new car" slaps on "market adjustment" and forums erupt into temper tantrums. Same thing happened in 2008 when the Shelby GT500KR hit the showrooms. Same story with the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. I wonder who ever spent above sticker for the ZR-1.....

There's no such thing as "market adjustment" unless you're living in an auction. Dealer slaps an over-charge on a vehicle in hopes some fool walks in drooling at the mouth with $100s dropping from his pockets. Capitalism as it's finest.

Very good point on those cars. None of which held their value

Define worth in your book and maybe we can tell you.

I still have yet to find one American car worth 100k in my book (either new or used).

YMMV

I like the GT350 and consider it a performance bargain at MSRP or below. But buying a $100K version of a car when 95% of them are well below $50K is like buying a million dollar house in a mid-level neighborhood.

I've enjoyed reading your posts and congratulate you on the GT350. If you've done a write-up comparing the car vs your previous M4 please send a link. Would love to read your perspective on them.

Great car, no doubt. Wait a year and you will get it for msrp. I never buy a brand new model. Wait a year and any teething problems get worked out - you get a better developed car at the proper price point.

um, I'd be amazed if more than two dozen GT350 were under $50K msrp in the US. There was less than 100 total base GT350, and *any* option puts it over $50K.

Most were track or tech pack cars that were $57K+ once they get the stripes and/or painted roof.

Expect most 2017 to be $60K msrp for the GT350. Thats the new base + $3K for the upgraded interior, with either the Recaro or heated/cooled leather couches.

i think he was referring to 95% of mustangs in general are below 50K, with the gt350's representing the 5% over 50K
