I grew up with 4cyl's and rotaries, then went completely opposite and got with V8's and never looked back over 20 years now lol

Some people want a V8 that rumbles loud at a lower pitch, like a man.

They will say nothing. Lol. What is there to say? 99% of people shopping for these 2 cars you mentioned will not look at a Z06. It's not just about performance when buying these cars. I obviously have not driven a Z06. I'm sure it's going to be fun. No matter how fast it is, I will pick my 458 every day. If I want to go fast, grab my brothers GTR. I think I compared it to watches before. Some people get the Patek/Rolex and some can buy a timex/swatch🤣. You figure out the reason why:-) They both do the exact same thing. Catching my drift ?

Having driven a lot of cars...I find a lot more of this to be in people's heads where they've rationalized the cost, thinking it's "better", but in reality, it's either not or it's "in the noise". Not that a Ferrari isn't better...it might be...or it might not. It's not the miles chasm that it used to be. I look to all my euro cars and how they were supposed to be all of this and that.

Rolex is a good example. Some people want a status symbol over function. My Garmin Instinct does 300x more things and has survived multiple expeditions.

I personally have never put the Vette on a list of exotic or must have. Even with this Mid engine design. It will never be An Exotic in my eyes. I like American trucks, not sports cars. The problem with the better American performance cars is that they are essentially souped-up versions of cheap run-of- the-mill mass production cars.

Like why spend 300+ dollars on a bond no 9 fragrance? When a fucking 30 dollar cologne from amazon can pull off the same compliments? People get certain things in order to show the world they are able to attain such items.

The 458 was one of my favorite ferrari's of all time. Still is, kinda. Too many newer stuff out there that tops it.

The C8Z is the affordable, modern day, better looking, fresher with warranty, newer, faster and probably (we don't know yet), more reliable than a 458 will ever be.

And the funny thing is that since the debut of the C8Z, a lot of actual exotic owners have joined the corvette forum because they're interested in getting the new z06.

So much for people not cross shopping exotic and higher end cars with a C8Z

458 is the much better looking car. C8Z looks like a cheap Ferrari copy from Southeast Asia. Still a very good car because it's affordable etc.

I guess that's the great part about being into this car culture, everyone likes different things!

Debadge both cars and everyone will flock to the C8Z. Without a question.

The C8Z is already a legend and GM only pre-came the production of it for the 1st MY.

The 458 was in production for how long? And everyone forgot about it already since the debut of the C8Z.

Both great cars. But legends are meant to be surpassed. The C8Z has surpassed the 458. It beat it at it's own game. For a fraction of the cost.
