on a crop body? So would definitely have some good reach crop or not with that thing, so safe distance from many of the animals

I was shooting with my D90, so that with the Nikkor 80-400mm lens had a lot of reach. I preferred getting as close a possible to the animals though so I could get a nice close shot with a lot of detail. I tried to get a detailed portrait of as many of the animals as I could. But it was not always possible. The pictures in my photostream of the animals at the watering hole are about as far as I ever shot, and that was 200m away.

she looks like she needs some more lighting on her left eye, it's very shaded by her hair and making some funny shadows. Nice shot though.

it's a combination of her awkward brow and the fact that it was at f/2.0, but you're right.

this one's a little better.

I don't think you've asked.

I keep a high quality UV filter on my 70-200mm and 24-105mm, but never on the 500mm. I've got a circular polarizing filter for the 24-105mm and a GND, but I seldom use them.

That shot of the chapel was with the light behind me and a super blue sky and I DID pull the RGB curve down a touch in the middle and pumped saturation up to around 10 out of 100. I pushed Contrast up to around 20 out of 100.

Not in the chapel shot, but in some of my Grand Canyon shots, particularly midday with haze, I apply a Warming filter in DxO and pull it way down to around 20%, while also adding a lot of Contrast.

Dave

sorry to say, but an S95 is the same price as some DSLRs

and if you have that many cars like you have listed, you can afford the cameras (or would if you didn't have so many vehicles.)

Fun shot, BTW

I've got an S95 as well. I love that thing. It's got all the power of a DSLR sensor packed into a point and shoot body. Perfect for those times you want a camera but don't want to lug a DSLR and kit along.

Hope you're shooting it in RAW

you'll enjoy that camera, that's about as good as it gets for a point and shoot.

I shot these pics (this is the same car) at the end of a video shoot for a client. Waiting on his OK for the video and I'll post it up!
