my car just got broken into @#@%@

So im working and a cop walks into my store and asks, "who drives the black bmw?" I tell him that its my car and he tells me to follow him outside. At this point im thinking my tint was too dark or something (i know its stupid haha). I ask him if there was a problem, and hes like "your cars been broken into.."

*wow*

i get to my car which is located on the side of the building and my passenger side window is smashed in with a rock (which is sitting on the driver side). The window itself is inside my car with the glass shattered everywhere.

Our business is located in a very populated plaza but i had to park on the side because there were no spots open when i arrived at work. Ive parked there numerous times with no problems so didnt really bother to think much of it.

Basically cop told me there wasn't much i could do about it and i would either have to pay out of my own pocket or use my insurance.
Basically my passenger side window is gone (i covered it with a trashbag ftl) my two front seats are scratched up and my center armrest is torn along with the top pillar. All that for an IPOD (not even the touch, an oldschool one). No cameras in the plaza, no witnesses. There was one dude who supposedly saw it and called the cops but he didn't even want to give out his name or tell which way the suspect(s) went. Only good thing was i had a over 3K cash in the center compartment and it wasn't touched (just the ipod that was next to the ebrake, i guess he was in a rush)(and no i dont always keep the cash in there lol, i just had to go to the bank)

So now either i pay a 1k deductable and let insurance handle it or suck it up and just repair the window. I have coral red interior so finding parts would be a little difficult. anyone got any suggestions?

You can install the new window yourself, it costs like 120 bucks or so at your local BMW dealership. Been through the same shit, my friend. As for the scratches, just let them be. I have some as well.
I dunno the prices for tinting a single front passenger window though.

i dont carry that kind of money with me. like i said it was for the bank and i didnt have time to go earlier

anybody know how much a window replacement costs? Tinting isnt a problem. I just want to take it somewhere and put a new window in.

But a good reminder. I've seen this happen 3x this last year to friends of mine over STUPID shit. Useless shit!!! Leave *ANY* cash in sight, a digital camera, a phone, ipod, etc, and some asshole WILL smash out a window for it. Never ever ever leave anything out and in sight. Someone will ruin your day to steal it, and most of the time, the damage they do is 10x what the ridiculous item they steal is worth to begin with...

Sorry about your loss (and my rant). Hope others can learn something from your loss...
