Schumacher and Barrichello was probably one of the most peaceful teammates ever in this sport.. i believe if Ferrari goes to a formula that worked in the past with Schumi and real #2 driver without compromise, d be the safest choice Ferrari could make.. and im not sure they re willing to take risks anymore cause Maranello is already boiling for a title for some time already.. building a team around Leclerc d be a clear choice with defined #2..
Ric can squeeze a lot from a Ferrari package but im not sure guys in Maranello likes him that much.. even if i believe he is one of the top notch drivers on the grid these days..

and actually McLaren can be a good choice for Vettel with Merc engines onboard.. though im not sure about Zak Brown at all.. he doesnt fit to McLaren genes and never seen such a ridiculous team principal ever in my life.. if they ll succeed, it ll be despite Zak Brown being the captain..

Sainz is kind of a ego guy.. kind of arrogant.. even Lando said this in milk video.. im not sure he can get along with Leclerc, and everytime Lec d crush him things will get even more spicier for Sainz and the team..

but yeah there is another chance which makes sense.. best #2 driver on the grid.. capable of winning as well with not much problem.. Bottas.. it could be weird but still..

Go along with all that and in the end we could all be wrong and Bottas will be perfect teammate for Leclerc.

Flashback of Montezemolo leaning into Raikkonen's car and giving him a thumbs up even before Schumacher or Ferrari announced Schumacher's retirement. Ferrari are brutal. They screwed up the man who ended their 20 year championship drought by that move.
Too bad Seb doesn't have a Jean Todt to be on his side like Schumacher had.

Which is now all over the interwebs -- with Riccardo to McLaren and Vettel to Renault (I thought Vettel might retire).

Sad that this is the most F1 excitement we've had all year -- I'm just hoping for some racing in 2020.

Alonso was telling Sainz has a bright future weirdly pretty recently coming out of nowhere.. maybe he is right first time in his life..

Doesn't sound to promising for Gio, but I think it makes sense based on his lack of F1 experience.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Binotto quote was before they made the call to move the rules changes out a year. 2021 season is going to use 2020 cars.

Can't say I am too surprised at this news. I have a hard time believing Vettel is willing to go to another team that wont be competing for the title. Maybe a jump to McLaren with a hope that they will be a top team in 2022 with new regs? Not sure. Should cause an interesting shake up though!

The comms line between Sainz manager and Maranello will be 'hot' then, if it is true they prefer him, negotiating a salary with his dad the Matador involved also.

You would be correct. But I think the argument still stands. An extra year would still be too little experience for Gio.

If Mercedes stays in the sport, it would be hard to believe that McLaren would be a title contender. There's a common thought in the paddock that the manufacturer teams wouldnt allow a customer to beat them. This is actually one of the reasons Ron Dennis made the switch at McLaren from Mercedes to Honda. He didnt believe that when Mercedes entered the sport as a works team that they would allow McLaren to beat them. Some may say that this is just speculation, but there are examples to support this being the case.

Happy for him. Driving for Ferrari I’m sure wasn’t what he always hoped it would be growing up. The team and the program has been a disaster in the turbo era.

Excited to support Verstappen and Norris going forward, but Seb will always be my favorite F1 driver.

LOL!

The guy who has increased the viewership in F1 and has helped to lower the average age of MBZ buyers by about 12 years. The guy who has millions of social media followers and has introduced millions of people to the sport. Sure. He's a social media whore.

Too funny!

I correspond with Zak 4 or 5 times a year and he is a very smart, very capable leader and a real racer. He's not corporate Ron Dennis but that doesn't work for anyone but Ron Dennis.

They will be at the top of the midfield this season and hassling the top teams in the subsequent seasons. The three worst things done by McLaren were: Martin Whitmarsh, Honda, and not fulling backing HAM once Button arrived at the team. This goes back Whitmarsh.

Strange that most of us Seb fans agree on Lando and Verstappen and not Leclerc. I've always been a Ferrari fan (secretly until Seb moved to Ferrari) but I can't see myself supporting this team anymore. The way they drivers on their way out is trash. They screwed over Schumy on his way out, treated Nando like crap, and now Seb.
Horner didn't say one bad word about Seb after he left and always spoke highly of him. But Ferrari are trash and I don't see them helping Leclerc's career. I hope Verstappen whoops his ass and teaches them a lesson.

I really don’t have a problem with LeClerc, he’s a talented young driver and seems like a good kid. He’d be #3 behind the other two.

I really hope HaAS can pick up the pace as I’d love nothing more than to support a competitive American team.

I know it’s kind of sacrilege, but I’ve never been much of a fan of the Scuderia. More of a BMW/Porsche guy, and I got into F1 last out of all the motorsport I follow. In 2011, actually.

Too funny!
He’s still a fake, insufferable twat. Everything he says and does is carefully choreographed to help his image.

And when he’s not miles in front of the pack, he turns back into that whiny little brat we remember from when he wasn’t in an unbeatable car.
