The original plan was to make them for 3 years and no more. 2004-2006. That sounds like 3 years of production to me . . .

Remember, vision check-up every 2 years . . .

I've owned BMWs in the past and they were great until I had to get work done on them out of warranty . . . Jeez, my Jaguar XJR is less to work on. You guys need to hop off you high horse - it's a 3 series, not an M6. Don't get me wrong, I think the 335 is a great car and has potential with minimal mods but don't think you are untouchable in a street race or an F1 car at the local track.

We have BMW owners on our GTO forum and we don't tell them their cars suck, are ugly, slow, ect . . . We all are car guys that love driving and enjoying them. We don't hate on them because they don't drive what we drive . . .

A few pics of what they look like in Oz land:

Oh, and this car will run 10s the way you see it in the pics above! My Jag, not so fast - 13.4s . . . bone stock.

I love my BMW 335i, but I'm originally from Aus and my car there was a humble Holden Commodore.

At the end of the day. This thread is about a car sold in Australia for over 100k AUD(the 335) "only keeping up" with a car sold in Australia for 50k AUD.

listen i love the american muscle just as much as the next guy. i thought about getting the gto or the charger when it first came out. but when the 335 came out it had the styling inside and out with the power. so it was a no brainer to me. as for the high horse thing it doesnt matter if i was driving a pinto id think my car was better (however im not that dilusional). its just the way it is

So DOC......is your car actually an imported Holden, or do you just call your Pontiac that to make it sound more exotic?

LOL This has nothing to do with BMW vs whatever. I just think the GTO is a very ugly car. There is one parked in office garage i see everyday. They are fast but imo ugly. Which is sad because (i know im going to get flack for this) I have ALWAYS been an american muscle fan (look at my cars). I just cant stand what they did to the GTO. Hell the 02 Trans Am I liked. But the GTO looks too much like hmm a Grand Am and a Cougar's love child.

A Holden with a Vette engine. Holden's owned by GM so my remark stands. Still a GM. Whatever floats your boat. Not hating just stating.

wow, you rhymed...impressive...All carmakers have their own issues, GM has made a ton of money for alot of years so they've been doing something right. BMW owners crack me up, they act as if owning a BMW somehow makes you better then others. Trust me all owning a 3-series means is that you own a 3-series, it's not exactly the top of the hill when it comes to luxury and or anything else for that matter. If owning a BMW somehow makes a person more then what they were to start with, then they have issues to resolve. It's a car that gets you from point a to point b, nothing more, nothing less.

I think that the fact that you are on this forum says that you think of your car as more than something to just get you from a to b, otherwise, by this philosophy you'd be driving a '85 Camry.

my BMW is good for 2 things, get me from a to b and turning a profit..I'm an opportunist not a blind badge whore. I'll leave that to the endless stream of teenagers who frequent this place. I come here to laugh at the masses, it's better then reality TV....

Ah, ok. So, VW ownes Lamborghini and Audi so the Lambo and Audi are VWs and Ford owns Jaguar so my 1999 Jag XJR Supercharged that is made in Coventry, England is a Ford. Ok, I think I got it . . .

Fiat ownes Ferrari but in no way is a F430 a Fiat. These big companies own and FUND them, it doesn't mean thay ARE them . . .

Just stating

Nice cars, I like the wheels on your GTO. 13.4 is fast, especially for a flagship sedan.

+10000!!!!!

The new GTOs are a disgrace to the GTO name. Sure the engine is powerful, but the styling is absolutely not worthy of the GTO badge.

And they really aren't as fast as a lot claim them to be. Sure, they have the LS2 engine (or even the LS1) and can be very easily modded into a beast, but I'm not impressed by them stock.

Oh, and PresaMat, may I please have your 69 Boss?!

so that's a no I don't mind the GTO, not my favorite but I have some respect for them. Call it what it actually is though, kind of lame to have Holden in your sig when indeed it's a Pontiac.

Oh, but if you want to see something Pontiac is going to do right, it's the G8. An affordable family car with some balls. Where did we see that before.... oh right, Holden! Pontiac needs to just start mirroring what Holden is doing because they are doing a much better job.

hey Doc!! may remember me from the GTO forum. Anyway..love both your cars, but am partial to that 10 second goat--that is a badazz car, and contrary to some opinions BEAUTIFUL!

they do bash the bimmers over there a little. They do think the 335 is "slow". Guess its all relative eh? I beat a GTO in it already, but he was stock and I have tune and DPs. But last spring I got SMOKED by a turbo'd GTO when I was in my srt8. that thing was so fast I almost p'd myself when took off!

Actually...that's quite the typical Mr. BMW ego tripping comment.

Want to see how a big car like the GTO handles? Take a look at it's sister car the Monaro.

If anything...our LSD-less BMWs will handle worse. It's not like our BMW are light machines either...
