What About the 5s?

It is pretty much the consensus that the 3 series sedan is going to become the 328I and 335I dropping the 325I and 330I designations. The engine HP will go from 215 to 230 and 255 to 300 respectively.

Will the 5 Series follow suit--will the 525i and 530i become the 528i and 535i? I would think that they must. Otherwise an entry level three would have more HP than an entry level 5 (525I). Further, the 530I which costs in the mid to upper 50's would have less HP than a 335I which will be approximately $10K less if both are optioned out in a similar fashion.

Sooo what has anyone heard of a 528I and 535I?

I'm wondering if a 535i wouldn't come close to the 550i in terms of performance numbers.

no plans as of yet but the 07 are out already. We may have to wait until next spring to see it as that is when the 08's come out.
