2023 (2024?) BMW X1 M35i expectations
Hi everyone - was wondering what folks here are expecting out of the soon to be released X1 M35i?
Blogs have been covering the testing / spy shots and most journalists expect 320hp, with some hoping for 350hp. The latter would be pretty sweet and a lot of car. I'm currently in a 2020 X1 28i M Sport and am close to ordering a 2023 X3 M40i. The new 2023 X1 gives me pause though. The interior is leaps and bounds better than the aging X3 and it has significantly more features in my opinion. I'm now torn on getting into the current X3 M40i or waiting to see what the X1 M35i offers. Price would likely eventually be a factor as well (ie. if the new X1 M35i prices/leases close to the X3 M40i to where I'd just go for the latter) So back to original question - please share your opinion / expectation of how the X1 M35i will shakeout. I don't see how I could bring myself to get a souped up 2.0T 4 banger over the inline 6 of the X3 M40.

I have a 2019 X2M35, same concept, I love the car, great performance for me (I don't track it) Yes it can be a little "laggy" which has been discussed in the X2 forum. I drive almost exclusively in sport and don't have any issues. If I really feel the need for a drag race start, I slap the shifter in to sport+ no problems. Other folks have added a pedal tuner. I like the combo of speed with a dash of practicality, when the X1 comes out I plan on checking it out. I really my current car, but .......
Seriously, check out the X2 thread, lots of discussion on the topic. Also while the rumored X2 M35 is I. The horizon, it looks too cramped in the back like a smaller X6. The boss would not be pleased with worse sight lines 😁. Good luck, stay safe |

Appreciate everyone's input here. Still interested in what they come up with for the X1 M35i but I did end up going a different direction.

I'm still toying with the idea of just trading the X1 in for M35i when it comes out, depending on how much better the specs are. |

The U11 is a lot of car (features on the new platform blow away the current gen X3 in my opinion) so I personally think the U11 X1 M35i will be sweet

I can only imagine what the next-gen X3 will have... but too bad I can't wait that long... but the U11 X1 is actually more comfortable and bigger on the inside than the current X3 for a large guy like me. (especially the amount of headroom)
