HAHA. I like it. I would gladly trade the latter for more of the former.

Every season needs to have one of these "set-up" episodes, where even though there is less action, there is more progress. As many members have mentioned above, look at all the theories being dropped already. We won't find out for 10 years was GRRM actually has in store for the books because dude writes so damn slow.

George RR new books will suck anyhow, he lost the mojo with the last book, too long, too drawn out, I think he had a great idea and HBOs writters and producers will and can do a better job from here. his dead line for the most recent book was 3 years ago. I was told that he sat down with HBO and gave them the cliff notes on what should happen and different ideas, he also stated that there would be a major plot twist that is not in the series

Yea heard the same thing too, he kind of game them the idea of where the series would go, but the books will always be vastly more detailed and differ from the series based on several decisions the writers chose to go with given the brevity of video.

I like the notion that Snow is one of the 3 dragon riders. I hadn't thought of that.

I read the books a while ago... My theory is that the 3 headed dragon/ dragon rider prophecy, will be Danaeres, Jon Snow, and Tyrian. I bet Tyrian is really a Targaryan bastard...hence why his dad hates him and denies him as his real son. His mother never fessed up because she died giving birth to him. This might confirm why the dragons did not eat him in the dungeon.

It is a pretty popular theory, by fans of both the books and the show. The books seem to hint at it a bit more than the show (same with the theory concerning Jon Snow's true parents).

Jon Snow's parents are theorized to be Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryan.
Targaryan descendants are said to have dragons blood.... Makes sense why Jon Snow is a big threat to the Whitewalkers and why he was able to kill one.
