For those who were critical of other recent incidents involving barricaded suspects…..


….keep in mind the currently barricaded suspect - who just shot two officers - still hasn't been apprehended despite the scene being contained. Tactical considerations, negotiations, etc. are still in play. We don't just run in (…even though every Officer/Deputy on scene would love to end this suspect considering the actions he committed).

edit: Suspect is in custody. I'm hyper critical about how certain things were handled by certain departments. I can't really go into detail here, but I am kind of livid.

Retirement is great. When I was still on the job I had a countdown clock on my phone and computer. I couldn't wait to get there, the grind and the bullshit takes its toll. Two face/mouth surgeries so far, with more to come. The round entered his cheek on one side of his face and got lodged below his jaw in his neck on the other side. Half of his teeth are gone. I don't think he'll go 10-8 again once recovered. The psychological impact of getting shot - especially in the face - is significant.

I agree with your sentiment. It's going to get worse. The day my classmate was shot, 7 LEO's (…from various agencies) operating on a task force out of my station were shot at.

I'll definitely tell him. He's feeling lonely at the moment. The hospital won't even allow anybody to see him because of COVID. So fucking ridiculous!

While in a Baskin Robbins today, these 5-year old twin boys ran into the establishment and exclaimed, "Hiiiii Mr. Cop"……while giving me hugs. I had to snap a few photos with them and post one here. You can tell by their behavior how they are being raised, and it's nice to witness the results of good parenting demonstrated by the behavior of the children.

I didn't! The father bought a birthday cake for the daughter who turned 7 years old that day. The day before, an attractive teacher paid for my WabaGrill. She had just had her nose pierced. I would say that verbiage mainly applies to arrests involving serious crimes that weren't observed by a law enforcement official or witness. You always have that right, but remaining silent isn't going to make a difference under most circumstances. Miranda applies to interrogation.

If it were a perfect world with plenty of opportunity, I would love to eat ………………...….

The second day in a row that I've experienced a solid family interaction. This interaction occurred at T.G.I.Friday's. The kids asked me for stickers, but a cursory search of my grab-bag revealed that I didn't have any to give. They were so well behaved. This, coming after leaving the hospital from checking on my vehicular assault victim who may not make it. Ughhh!

I hope we catch the gang member responsible.
