2001 540i for 200$ - Should I ?

Hello everyone.

I have found a 2001 540i that needs love. The car has been sitting for a long time and its super dirty inside and outside with minor body issue around rear QP.

I own 2001 M5 so I am familiar somewhat with these cars and would do the work on my own.

Bad -

front window rails are busted
sunroof doesn't open ( I hear the motor )
the rear right door actuator is shot and has to open from inside
front bumper missing
needs battery
needs tires
VCG need to be replaced from seeing the oil on the oil pan
abs - ecu - lights are on
headlights need a major clean up
hood won't open ( look like passenger mechanism is stuck ) ( cable also broke )

Good -

Motor runs really smooth and quiet
transmission shifts well
power is there
only 200$
the interior is not ripped up but needs a very good cleaning.

Short video -

Question:

What do I need to do to open the hood?
What parts do I need to fix windows?
Where would I source a bumper here in Puerto Rico where I am ( M5 is in NY )

Thank you 🙏

Here's my M5 BTW.

It's amazing to see a cool car like this come back to life if you have the time and money. But, if the goal is to flip the car...idk if it makes financial sense.

I would say go for it.

The car is for me to get around while in Puerto Rico. I don't want to ship my m5 here but I also don't want to buy a 1200$ 1990 Isuzu rodeo or whatever that was the guy was selling.

Without checking anything the motors sound and pulls healthy and trans shifts well. The motor is very smooth and idles perfectly. I could even ship it to the USA for 1200$ and still have a decent car? 90K miles is not so much (my M5 has little more )

330$ for painted Msport front bumper. It has a light for ABS so not sure what the deal is. Also missing the first fuse in the trunk, need to look that up. Window rails are shot and windows need help closing in the front. All these items I can fix myself, but is the motor good on these and how many miles on chain guides?

Ha! Isuzu Rodeo was my first car! I had a stick shift 1997 V6 4x4. I learned to match my revs, double clutch and probably way more stupid things on that thing, lol.
