Eclipse 2024
Are you on the path? We will get a partial view of it here in Western Mass , but I was able to see the last one back in 2018.
Of course it's a weekday so I guess I'll take it off to watch with granddaughter. |

The eclipse hadn't even made out of the the background noise until I saw this image. Thanks!
We're slated for a partial eclipse of 99.7% at 3:09 PM; fingers crossed for a clear day.

I have known the weather forecast for that day since 2017, so I'm not wasting a dime on special one-time viewing devices.....

In the 99.8% zone. Need to drive about 15 minutes east to see 100%. I have the gear and a solar filter, so we'll see if the weather will cooperate.

I’ll be in the path of totality on board the Emerald Princess just south of Mazatlan off coast of Mexico.

I'm in the 90% band...just. It's about a 4 hour drive to get right to the heart of the total path. I'll not be making the trip. I've been lucky enough to have been in the total path many years ago. It's pretty cool but not worth 8 hours behind the wheel on some rather boring roads.

In the 90-100% totality. Took the day off from work, sharing the experience with my 4yo grandson.

I'm in Western Mass. (90% coverage). If the weather looks clear that day, I'll take the X5 and take a 2 hour drive up I91 to see the total eclipse... I91 through VT is a pleasant drive. The gal could use a good road trip..

There used to be a place on the Molly Stark Trail just off I91 in Brattleboro that had really good sammiches and sides. Can't remember the name, but it's probably gone now anyway. The Molly Stark was a blast on my old FJ1200.

I walked around the small town I lived in during the eclipse of ‘17 and took a few pictures. Funny, it was sunny out but the sun wasn’t intense at all. I may do the same thing and go to the Nashville riverfront for a couple images.

We were outside the totality area in '17, but I grabbed some pics anyway. I was surprised that it never really got dark despite most of the sun being blocked.
https://flic.kr/s/aHsm3hgsrP I remember thinking back then (which seems like last week) that I'd be retired and a good bit older for the next eclipse. Well, here we are.

Me and 2 friends are actually flying to DFW for this. Booked it a while back and now I'm kinda worried it's going to be a total cluster fuck. I'm hoping our flights don't get canceled and I actually have a car to rent when I get there. Worst case our hotel is in the path of totality so we can watch it from there.... assuming the weather allows.

Was on family vacation down on Hilton Head Island,SC for the '17 eclipse wondering where we'd be for the next one....ironically we sold our house in NY,and moved to Hilton Head Island in '20 lol. Had to retire early(medical issues) so I'll be watching in the 70-80% zone with my trusty Miller auto-tint welding helmet, just like in '17 So,are you retired now??

I remember the first one I saw.
Sit down, get comfortable, and just relax as I regale you with the details I was at Sierra Linda school, so 4th-6th grade. We made little cut-out shade thingies, and also had special cup where we painted the bottom so could fill with water a get a good reflection. IRRC, I just made a puddle on the ground and looked at that.

I'll be in flight from RI to FL while it occurs (12:51 - 4:02) and I have an aisle seat on the side of the plan looking out to the east, so I guess not really.
