Suggestions on replacement - Movado

Hi all,

I didn't want to hijack someone else's thread. I'm looking for something to replace my beloved Movado. I've had it about 20 years. A few? years ago, I replaced the mechanism. I just brought it to the jeweler to replace the battery, but they just called. It's not the battery. I'm hoping it's the mechanism again.

Anyway, I really love this watch. It's sleek, feminine and I like the size. It works for daily wear and dress up nights. I've been googling around looking for something similar style wise, but most of what I see are big, round faced watches. I'm not a watch buff so I have no clue where to look as far as specific brands. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the crappy picture.

I found a Rado that's close. And a Cartier but I'm not loving the face.

There's a Baume et Mercier you might like:



They're an excellent brand - not flashy, but people "in the know" will appreciate your taste.

Your watch appears to be the Eliro Ref: 84-C1-415-AS and retails new for $2000 ±.

I would get the new movement because it it shared by many other makes. My Tag/Heuer needed a new engine and it only cost me $60 which was a brand new original Swiss Ronda quartz mvt.

Thank you. I am going to get it repaired but may as well get a new watch while I'm at it.

If you don't have to many watches, go for it.

I know people say that you can never have enough watches. But how often do you wear a watch when you have 20 or 30+ watches.
I probably have over 20 watches and I find myself wearing the same 5-6 watches all the time.

I've worn that same Movado every day for the 25? years I have it. I just reached out to Movado to see if it can be fixed. My jeweler told me the watch was discontinued and they no longer have the movement, but Jane said the movements are shared over certain brands. Fingers crossed I can get it repaired. If not, I may buy the diamond one too.

I'd consider checking with an actual watch maker/repair shop versus a jeweler. I went to one local to me to see if he can fix a very old Citizen watch. Citizen also doesn't have the movement any more due to age. He was able to source through his network components needed to repair the watch. He was able to get the time function working. But was unable to fix part of the calendar function as the replacement part he got was also broken.
