The 3-series is the only BMW I like. I don't like most Benzes except the CL and S.

I'll wager that the buttons probably even come from the same vendor that BMW uses(?)

I have full leather with the leather pleats on the door panels (soft and padded and quiet.) The one I have is a new MY09.

But the solid feel I'm really referring to comes from the car overall. The chassis, etc.. I feel like I'm in something solid and not a tin box. Like the old Benzes from the 1980s.
Hmm, I dunno. Maybe I need to check out the MY09 E-Class. Personally, the only two Benzes that I've found with flawless interiors are the S and CL. Then again, you get what you pay for. And to be more specific, it's not necessarily the buttons, but the knobs and other adjustable switches. They feel plasticky and loose imo. The COMAND knob is somewhat better feeling than my iDrive knob too.

And yeah, I know whatcha mean in regards to the old Benz reference. My friend drives an old 500E, which is, btw, an amazing car. Not as stiff as modern Benzes, but it has a stong feel about it that makes you believe it'll last a long time.

I like the benz interior on some models over the other. I do however love bmw's excellent steering feel and stiffer ride. For the price I choose BMW, except for the AMG models minus the ///M3.
