Toyota builds 2,000+ hp Land Cruiser for SEMA
Not bad, Toyota....not bad. Gives me high hopes for the next gen Supra....
Although the article says they used the "stock" 5.7, I wonder if it used stock internals....and wonder what "low boost" is... http://www.autoblog.com/2016/11/01/t...usauto00000016 Make sure to check the video here: http://pressroom.toyota.com/article_...rticle_id=5793 Last edited by whats77inaname; 11-02-2016 at 06:49 PM.. |

This is dumb.
Toyota, what do they even make? Oh, right, they make Camrys, Corollas, Tundras and Tacomas. That was their choice when they dropped exciting cars like the MR2 and Supra. Then they show up with this? Why not use solid rocket engines out the back?, it would be even faster and serve the same exact purpose.

At the end of the day, Toyota is in the business of bread-and-butter cars. They are the "dry white toast" of manufacturers - sure, everyone will eat it but nobody is excited by it. There is a reason why BMW is softening their edge and starting to build boring FWD cars... that's where the money is!

Dumb is dumb There was a time when they focused on reliable SENSIBLY optioned/cost effective vehicles Now they are pushing highly optioned tacoma's that are way over priced without an option for an MT and Venza's that start at 30k for a flipping station wagon At least they havent gone full retard on the Corolla <yet> Personally I would like to see them offer the basic Hilux pick ups and land cruisers like the FJ/BJ-70's they offer in other markets and bring back a Supra/Celica type of line |
