I can't afford any of them and I'm not ever willing to PCP or lease them, and you can't get one anyway so... irrelevant to me and 99% of other car owners. And yes envious a little bit.
But it did hopefully embarrass BMW enough to retract the "we don't need a high end sports car" statement... Has it blx. Come on BMW, what's the excuse this time? |

I did not read the review. But man, just from subjective standpoint the Porsche is amazing looking. I would pick that one hands down. Are all of those cars in the same base msrp ballpark? I'd take the merc next and the M4 a very distant last...and then sell it to buy a M3.

Why did BMW made M4 GTS? it looks like every single competitor destroys it, I mean WHY, why can't BMW make one flagship Supercar to silence the critics and especially number one competitor merc. Oh Why?????? |

While I'm not trying to defend the m4gts and believe me I'm not a fan of it.... the Merc
And Porsche were built on a racing car platform from the ground up as the m4gts wasn't- the m4 is a great dual purpose vehicle (DD/track) but you can't expect event in the GTS version of the M4 to be matching against a GT3RS ...... sorry but BMW needs to build something from the ground up to compete here otherwise just call the m4gts the king of the "luxury sports sedan" with a trunk that can carry groceries for a family of 6. |

Ouch. Tough press for the GTS. Hope BMW gets the picture.
Agreed bmw shouldn't have done it. When you put in a rollcage, full coilovers and cup tires people expect a track star, regardless of whether its sedan based or ground up. Too bad there is no M8 / bmw wants to be an eco mobility company more than ever and never really made a pure sports car so what do we expect Btw the merc looks great. Love the green |

Look, the guy owned the f80. He likes that car. The dude knows what he's talking about and knows how it could have been or should have been and it just fell short. It's not a BMW hate thing. He wanted to love this car. It just really fell short of the hype and price tag. And when you compare it to other cars in the same price range..... it just doesn't compare.

AMG GTR: $195,000+ If you can get one
911 GT3 RS: $250,000+ for a 2016 model BMW M4 GTS: around $130,000 at today's prices. Not in the same ball park at all. The GTS is actually a good value for the money. Got the GTS and a $70,000 SUV for the winter. Having a blast! |

The problem with the M4 GTS is not the performance. It's the price. Because of its over-inflated price for what it is, it competes against much better and focused machines.
It should have been $100K and not limited production.

I've always believed that these kinds of cars are for bros: maybe a quarter of them will see real track work, otherwise it's "bro, check out my roll cage and carbon fiber roof and 500hp and..." the list goes on.
And, if you do take your car to the track often, why would you want to bring one with the kind of limitations the M4 has, and by that I mean a back seat (or room for one), a full sized trunk, and huge 20-inch wheels. I love my M3, and I think it drives amazingly at the track - feels smaller the faster it's driven, well balanced...but it is by no means a car I'd get if I wanted a dedicated track rat - especially at the price the M4 GTS commands. If you're a big bmw fan and you've got money to spend, by all means. But if you've only got one chance In your life to get a car like this..
