Laptop Password Error

It is a pretty old Vista laptop and never used for a couple of months. i am going to donate it to a church but can't login. Seems the password I remembered was wrong. However, I need to pull off the files first. Is there any way to fix it?

Pull the hardrive and use it as slave from another pc. You’ll be able to to access your files.

Not sure about resetting the password

Nuke the hard drive. You never know what's on there.

Download Boot and Nuke (the free version is fine) and run it a couple times. This was standard procedure when retiring old PCs when I used to work IT.

Then the computer was useless without a drive.

I've used Hirens BootCD to clear passwords before. It works really well on Windows OS's up through Windows 7.

KonBoot, make a bootable USB and it will bypass the password. Its free for everyone, be careful where you download it, I recommend torrents.

I'm not sure if the KonBoot works, after all, it's useless on my Widnows 10 .
There's a more useful way than KonBoot , Google PassMoz or click it:https://www.passmoz.com/remove-login...m-windows.html

Tbh there is a really easy way with a bootable USB stick, some copy-paste and working in the console. As this might be misused, I won't post a tutorial here - and some of the earlier mentioned ways should be workable as well.

Last time I used it was about 6 months ago, it worked fine on the newest and up to date Windows 10.

With its help, the password can be removed from laptop and it is time to set a new password for your locked account on your laptop.
