Shot my car in a studio again.

Had some more time to shoot in a photo studio today. Cars tend to look stale in this setting, but I just love the creamy lighting and beautiful reflections from the paint.

Also tried something new. Shot some video in the studio with my iPhone on a gimbal. Excuse the horrible editing and movement.

Yup. After owning about 8 BMWs and a Porsche, I end up with a Honda and this is the best car I've ever owned for many reasons.

but I'm still a pretty huge BMW fanboy.

Looks good. Are you using a CPL? Some of the reflections of the light interferes with the white background and we lose the shape of the car, it the tail lamps in the 2nd shot and the hood in the 3rd shot. You could also clone out the tire marks and dirt on the floor, but it kind of adds texture, you almost wish there was a bit more dirt on the floor or none at all.

Car is SICK by the way. I wonder what made you replace the GT4 with it.

No I'm moving soon so most of my camera gear is already in boxes. I just shot with what I haven't packed yet. I'm friends with the owner of the studio so it was nothing official. Half the lights in the soft box were burned out too so it was just one of those "better than nothing" situations.

Just wanted to get some clean shots of the car since it got a fresh coat of paint.

I didn't replace the GT4 with it. I actually sold my E92 M3 because I liked driving the S2K so much. I picked up the GT4 almost a year after the S2K and while it was a great car (and very quick on track), I enjoyed driving my S2K on and off track just as much. I did back to back track days between the 2 cars as well as switched between driving them every other day. Just felt like it wasn't worth having a loan on a $100k car when my S2K with no loan on it (albeit modded quite a bit) was just as much fun to drive. But after the move I'll eventually pick up something cheaper yet fun to drive like another BMW or maybe a 996 911 so I have back seats for my kids and a more comfortable daily driver.

Just a Canon 5D on a tripod. Canon 50mm 1.2 or 35 1.4. I forget which one I brought with me. I shot 3-5 photos of the same shot with different exposures so I could do an HDR merge and have way more image data available when playing around in Lightroom.
