Yep, consider me impressed with the whole thing. IMHO, this is how you release a truck. Wouldn't be shocked if it beats the Tesla to market.
While it doesn't work for absolutely everyone, this would fit my needs really nicely. I look forward to when Toyota releases an electric Tundra.

So given the fact that the F-150 is the top selling vehicle period and that Ford has been building pick up trucks forever I can see this crushing the Tesla since the Cybertruck will be the first try at building a pick up from a relatively up start car builder. There will be some that will go for the Cybertruck because it's a Tesla, and some who like the futuristic look but I think this F-150 Lightning might really clean up. I still don't see me buying an EV but they are getting more interesting.

Looks like a good option for people that don't tow. I'm surprised how low the range is, figured you could fit a lot more battery packs in a half-ton truck. It's only going to have ~150 miles of towing range.

What made me buy (and keep) a 2001 Lightning was a combination of looks, exclusivity and power.
This has the power. Not so sure about the looks and it's not a limited production so I'll wait to see what they drive like before I consider another Lightning. I do like the idea of a full size electric pickup.

Agree, this is one of the biggest hurdles with electric trucks in my opinion. Until the infrastructure gets better towing will be a guessing game of range.

Initially impressed, but would not be able to tow to and from most tracks that I would go to with the range advertised. Unless I took a generator along...

There is no way you're going to get into a charging station with a trailer in tow. |

Another electric "truck" that can't really tow anything very far. That being said if my use case for a truck was the occasional home depot trip and maybe towing a small boat to the boat ramp... this is the electric "truck" I would get.
Honestly I think Ford is really the king of trucks. I'm on my second Ford truck and I've looked at GM and Ram but I always come back to Ford. I got a hardon for that new F150 hybrid with the pro power in the back... that's probably going to be my next truck. |

$40k for “commercial edition” that I guarantee you won’t be allowed to option extended range. Just like the Mach E, base model doesn’t allow extended range option.
In reality $53k for XLT, plus $5000 for extended range. So...the 300 mile range F150 Lightning starts at $58k. |
