Wow such an epic video. Long but great.

I love the MC20. So sick. They absolutely crushed it with that one.

Some other highlights for me:
- Them sh*tting on the G80 M3 LOL. I actually was looking at them as I sold my GTR recently and I just could not get over the strange looks. Def mustang side profile. Idk wtf they were thinking. Getting an F82!!!
- The scene with the unheard of manual in the Toyota lol that was hilarious
- The SL AMG lol “I f*cking hate this car”

Props to those guys for doing a great job. How fun that would be

The M4 got sharded on for the classic BMW faults...

1) suspension tuning is insanely bad and always bouncy... anywhere outside of a track

2) its not special enough to command the price over a standard comp

BMW needs to figure this out.

I was looking at this and some of it just didn't make sense. Like, why even go to the RS level for porsche? Is that not well-known as "yeah you can drive to/from the track, but it's a track car and it's not going to be fun on normal roads". They acted like it was some kind of revelation or new knowledge. Porsche is making GT3s and GT4s and yes, the "RS" is more than a few letters added on.

Same thing with the CSL. They are testing the track-spec cars. They should be expecting these results.

Well the price disperancy of each of thede cars already throws me off but I guess the decision here was to choose the most hardcore drivers car each manufacturer has.

I see this time and time again too, where someone, tester, general public guy, whatever, thinks the most expensive version of the car must be the "best". Like they are completely oblivious to the further and further compromises that the harder-edged machine gets. RS? RSR or CUP must be better, even more letters!

The thing is though; yes those are more track focused than other cars, but they're far from being track cars. Generally folks who buy them will also want to drive to work or fun back roads etc, not just the handful of times a year (if at all) they go to a track. So yes they roads they chose did not suit those cars, but those cars should also be able to work well on those roads - through adjustable dampers or otherwise.

YMMV

idk who would want a CSL over an equivalently priced v10 R8. if you check the g80 forums it seems be mostly about 'its so limited and will be worth $$$ in the future'.

but yes the test itself being on bumpy roads and wet chilly weather wasn't exactly in the track cars best interest.. cup2 tires without heat, stiff suspension, can't use the downforce.

props to the 86. when you make a car with light weight you don't need to put insanely stiff springs on it to handle right.

Funny how C&D called the MC20 one of their most disappointing cars of 2022, whereas EVO made it their best.

The M4 CSL seems to have some mixed reviews. Some have been stellar, whereas others like this trash it.

The SL, just LOL. Mercedes has never prioritized making drivers' cars so I had no expectations. Maybe there's been some exceptions here and there, but the SL is just another heavy cruiser boat of theirs.

Yeah, the "list" just makes no sense. Mercedes has never been trying to pawn the SL off as their best driver's car, it's the SL. They make the GT for a reason.

Throttlehouse was also down on the Maserati, as in "no real point" compared to what else is out there.

This seemed to be more of an eye-candy "here's a bunch of high end cars, look at this!" rather than seriously trying to segregate and compare like cars or even unlike cars.

Every publication has its own criteria I suppose. They didn't like the Porsche GT4RS while everybody else says its God's own work. To each their own.

Reading between the lines on any RS review, it seems pretty obvious they are not good all-around cars. GT4 or GT3, sure, great car, but RS, only if you want to go around the track faster. I don't know why people have a hard time with this.

My sentiments exactly. The RS is a purpose-built track car, yet the entire time they were ranting about its rough ride. No sh*t sherlock, it's tuned for a prepped track surface not public roads.

I love the MC20 too! This model has its pros and cons! But I think that there is more beauty and power here!!

I agree with others that the choice to go with the CSL and RS specs from BMW and Porsche is a bit odd. I think the M3 Competition (which has the same, if not better performance than most of the super cars) and 911 Touring would have been much more appropriate.

The G80 is the best M3 ever (it's not close). Looks so much better than the old ones too.

Benchmark was set high with the 2 past pctoys hence the reason why the csl appears to be (hard criticism) a flop. It will prob be more desirable as more EV take over the world after several years.

front intake/grill seems fish-like to me. Worse on the other modern masaratis. I thought their "angular 80s" styles were good back then and the wedge-70s were also good...but they seem more like fish now.
