Not your usual detailed close-up, Dave. When was the last time you posted a picture of the northern end of a southbound deer?

But, but, butt this might be her best side...

Oh yeah, and I don't need a model release this way either.

7D at ISO 6400. Not noise free, but still pretty useable:

Buck in pre=dawn light by dcstep, on Flickr

ISO 6400, +1EV, 500mm lens at f/4, resulting in 1/320-sec in Av mode. I don't understand the 7D's bad rap for noise. The NR applied here was DxO's preset to preserve detail.

Yeah, but most buyers for the internet wouldn't have any issues. It'd never sell as a big print.

Dave
On second thought, there's a deer buck culture (hunters) that generally have really horrid images on their sites. This is a big guy, but if he were even bigger, with like an 11x11 rack, they might fall all over themselves to own it. This is "trophy" quality, but a record or near record animal drives those guys (and gals) crazy.

Excited coon hound:

Excited hound hunts in the park by dcstep, on Flickr

Canon 7D, EF 500mm f/4L IS, ISO 800, +2/3EV, f/6.3 resulting in 1/1250th sec. Hand held with almost no crop.

I was out trying to find an 11x11 buck when this guy came running by.

Cool sunset, Marc. Did you use any filter? Mine had the CP on it.

And thanks, Dave. My ND filter gets delivered today, so I look forward to playing with that on the way home.

Sorry, asleep at the mouse.

In keeping with the "Rays" theme, here's mine from last night. The rays are there, but not as prominent:

Sunset at Cherry Creek Lake. by dcstep, on Flickr

I processed it with a Fuji Velvia 100 look. Hence, the colors are more saturated and less accurate, ala the ole timey film days.

Shots with sunrays I find to be some of the most dramatic sunset/sunrise shots IMHO...love it!
