Very interesting, you broke a cardinal rule and your image still is very strong. Normally I wouldn't let the horizon dissect the exact middle of the frame, particularly when the sky is kind of dull, but it really works here. That strong bench and its angle in the composition are what make it, I think.

thanks dave, i didn't notice it to be honest.. like you said it must be the bench that takes a large part of the image..
oh and the thing is that the image has no crop. i didn't plan for the horizon to be in the middle, i was more focused on the angle of the bench.

edit: went to lightroom and cropped it a bit. it does look better

your last pic... sorry, maybe I'm just a little anal about it, but it seemed that it was tilted just a little counter-clockwise.

The folks across the street from us have a rat terrier named Sparky. We call him Mighty Dawg. He's afraid of the outdoor cats, but he has no fear of raccoons, even a bunch of them. Tonight he went tearing into a pack of them that were scrounging out back and chased some up a tree. Don't know what he'll do if they turn on him someday.

After my visit to San Francisco, I took a trip to Montana to visit my parents and took this IR picture from their front porch.

Mark, looks worthy of a sig pic.
Dave, that is really good. Perfect timing and it looks like mom/dad in the background?
