Your Car Insurance gone Crazy ?

Some old threads on here but need a recent update to what ins company you use for the BMW. Mine is 3rd car and driven on Sundays!
I have clean driving record and no claims in past 5 years. (windshield)
My has creeped up to $1050 every 6 months.

Rates are not coming back down. You should know that.

My FL insurance is double my Ohio insurance. USAA. I had progressive before that and went back to USAA.

I have two classics insured by Hagerty, but that strategy is not cheaper. Just allows me to insure to a specific value.

I insure through State Farm. I get a multi-car discount (M2 and 230xi) and also I have renters insurance through State Farm.

Pay approx. $500/6 months per vehicle.

Retired. No work (or school) commute. Have put 7500 miles on the M2 in one year and since Dec. 1, 2023 have put 3000 miles on the 230ix.

No tickets and a small claim 6+ years ago. Agent stated this claim does not affect my rates as it is too long ago.

my car insurance w geico went up to $950 for 6 months... not much over the prior 6 months but this is for a AWD family SUV when I used to pay 650 for a 2 door sports car... auto insurance and home insurance will soon need to enter a realm with government regulation soon or get ready to become an uninsurable country... 1 more hurricane in FL is all it will take... and its already slowly happening

Just remember inflation is transitory.

I'm just watching this all with bewilderment wondering how the average person is getting by.

do you remember when during Covid auto insurance companies returned premiums out of the goodness of their own hearts because people drove less?

Two teenage (male) drivers, well one just turned twenty, you don't want to know! They do contribute 1/2 each but the total for 4 drivers is ludicrous.

Just got the renewal bill for next 6 months, $2400 for 2 cars perfect record/credit. What a joke. It used to be $1k.

I think the truth is the average person is not getting by… more credit card debt, less savings and minimal if any contribution to retirement.

You have to be correct, I see no other way except for established family members chipping in to help as well.

We have lost 20% of our buying power in 4 years, and there is no end in sight. What’s incredible is that as bad as things are now, we are nowhere near some traditional interest rate areas. Could you imagine 12-15% on homes and cars as a norm (and that’s with an 800+ credit score) in present conditions? Too horrible to imagine.

Add in the prospect of Iran starting a regional war and the Strait getting shut down, we might all be walking soon. I work remote from home and filled up both cars last night. I could last until August at least.

about $1100 per vehicle with Erie max limits 250/500 and multi policy and good driver discounts

teenage drivers $3200-4000 on fam policy or $6-7K stand alone for the first three years and no accidents

a fam with 2 teens, boy in college and girl junior driver license, and 4 cars is paying $11500/y

insanity!!

Shop around and suck it up I suppose. At least you’re not in Canada. Rates in the city will spin your head.

I have a mint record. M5 is 220 a month. Not sure if that's bad or not, 190 for the X5M.
