I live in California where Premium gas is roughly $5.50 per gallon. I drive 1,500 a month.

I don’t drive Honda Civics or Toyota Camry’s. When I was commuting in my M3 I was spending roughly $400 a month on gas.

When I got the Model Y, I would charge on a regular 120 plug in outlet which took over 30 hours and supercharge as needed. This averaged me in $150 price hike on my utility bill per month and roughly $150-200 in supercharge charges each month.

Now that my i7 comes with free unlimited charging, there is not point charging at home when there is a charger at my gym, which I go daily and spend over an hour there.

To answer your question, the answer is ZERO

My charges are from. Idle fees that I let the car sit at an EA station over 10 min.

You have an incentive period of free charging. As do many. The question posed was without such a free charging period. I also have one and have charged 1,370 kWh for free, getting me 5,111 actual miles. Saving me approximately $1,100 in fuel.

Thank you for the clarification. I have gone 1500 miles and charged 703 kWh for fee. Mind me asking how to calculate the fuel savings?

Wh/mile average (mine is 268)
Convert to miles/kWh (mine is 3.73)
Multiply by total kWh used
Divide that by your typical mpg
Multiply by price for typical fuel
Answer

In your case let’s say you get 20 mpg and fuel is $4.00/gallon. That means 1500 miles / 20 mpg x $4.00 = $300 saved.

Btw you’re only getting about 2.13 miles per kWh? That’s horrible efficiency. Which vehicle do you have?

Charging publicly vs at home is dependent on the region. I charge exclusively NOT at home because Tesla supercharger rates are typically cheaper than my home rate. Plus they are so abundant in Southern California I'm not concerned about range or anything like that.

I will say the other charging companies appear to be awful. There is an EVGO next to a tesla supercharger and it's crazy to see the lines and about half of their chargers appear to be down at any given time.

What’s your home rate and what’s the Tesla rate? Just curious. Here (Atlanta suburbs) it’s $0.10-$0.25 for SC depending on time of day and $0.12 at home.

SC are vastly superior than other charging spots.

Strap in, my home rate is crazy. It's about .42 in winter and .48 in summer. San Diego has the distinction of some of the highest rates in the country. For most houses you can switch to a "Time of use" plan but doesn't apply to my particular house as it's a condo that apparently isn't zoned for that type of plan.

Supercharging rates on peak are about .42 - .54 but I typically charge in the morning or the night, which generally is about .19 - .30. Your electricity rates make me jealous!

Sheesh. Still cheaper than your $5 gas! $3.20 here. I see why you use the SC
