OP, if are getting an used one, make sure you are good with DIY. I thought m3 frequentcy of differential fluid change was too frequent. GTR is like almost every oil change. Get the maintenance package if you got the $.
Lots of kiddos between 16-26 will drool. Lots of STi and Evo guys will try to race you. Besides that it is not bad of a car. Last edited by MrPrena; 09-18-2015 at 07:06 PM.. |

I actually like GTR's and BMW M's better then PORSCHES and Ferrari's and their peers.
But the GTR is definately getting old and it's weight is feeling old also, plus the paint is nice but I think GM does better paint on their vette's and some Cadillacs. |

This is nearly exactly my thoughts on the car. Nissan just cant make a decent front end lately. It's the visual weak point of most of their cars. They really should have evolved the GT-R better over all these years.

Agreed 100% but I have never seen such a dude magnet like a gtr except for the original skyline. I'm married so could careless but it's just funny. Even funnier is my wife gets a lot of attention from other women when she drives my M3 lol

A buddy of mine had a 2009 GT-R from new and drove it for 38,000 miles, summer and winter (he doesn't even have a garage - off street parking next to his house) and basically had no issues at all.
In 2013 he traded in on a new 2014 GT-R, but unfortunately, we had a really bad winter and the roads were really beat-up, hence the GT-R beat his back up (literally). He's not in the best of shape (physically) and just couldn't take it so he had to trade it in on a G37X. He misses it a lot. I drove both of them and the 2009 seemed to be more robotic and harsher. When pushed around corners, I could almost feel the car working itself out. The 2014 was much more organic feeling and I even got it to oversteer a few times. The ride was better than the 2009 (for me, I'd be fine with either of them - ride quality) as I'm fine with a stiffer ride. In the end, I don't think you could go wrong. If I were you, I'd look at getting a 2012 or later since they made suspension changes along with several other updates that made the car better.

I've driven these over two-three days and 500 miles and the performance is unbelievable for the money. Its one of the few cars you can set everything to race mode and still have a very driveable car on the UK roads. It needs to go through very mild tuning to release some of the engine sound IMHO, but otherwise more than enough for the road. Ok for occasional track use as well though I did find the rolled leather seats very slippery and the seat belts not much cop. Any more frequent use with a 1.7t car would end up in open wallet surgery The looks are challenging for some people and the PS3 like interior and plastics are a real let down. The paintwork on the front is not great. The three that I drove were well stone chipped especially on the lower front spoiler - so a protective paint shield is probably advisable. |

Neither having anything to do with the purchase of a GTR. I want a GTR badly but trying to decide between the feasibility of it, over a 911 Carrera S/GTS. 911 interior is obviously better, but the GTR seems to be more unique and easier to maintain, I think....anyone chime in.

As long as the car makes me feel happy, I could careless about the association that come with it. If I were to choose, I'd get a 911. |
