G30 production ends 6/23. Wondering what, if anything, that might mean for future G29/J29 production volume.

You mean insofar as it might free up additional production capacity at Magna Steyr in Graz?

When is production supposed to end on the current Z4? Trying to predict the timing on the manual anytime soon seems to be a fruitless effort.

In my opinion, when BMW makes an announcement about the MT and the dealers accept pre-orders, they might be surprised at the volume. 👍🏻

Will the Z4 manual be the last ICE manual car BMW announces (possibly ever)?

Currently there's the M3, M4, and the M2, all in production now, and the expected 2024 Z4 with manual, right?

Unclear about Z4 timing but otherwise think that's the list.

EV mandates don't seem to fully take effect until 2035 (and are likely to be extended). My understanding is that the CLAR platform is getting an update for 2025.

I think that leaves enough time for one more generation of M2 or Z* which could include a manual.

BMW seems focused on going electric for the M3 and above, and I suspect they will focus on bringing these higher prices vehicles to the all-electric Neue Klasse first.

Talking to my dad, yesterday, from what I understand EV mandates are to be in place by 2030 in the UK. While not a huge market, all new vehicles must be EV or hybrid with an expected battery range.

If BMW doesn’t have enough engaging EVs by that time, they’d loose market share, which would be tough to get back.

(All of this assumes the ****-show mandates actually come to pass).

From 2035, all new cars that come on the European market cannot emit any CO2.New hybrid cars will not be allowed for sale.Just trucks or industrial machinery with petrol or diesel engines will be allowed for sell until 2050. But you will be able to drive and sell your current combustion engine car until 2050.From 2050 nothing emitimg CO2 could be driven.

I wonder the chance they'll change the steering feedback at all? We know they can have more steering feedback, just don't currently want to. If people are looking for a manual, I think there's a good chance that they are looking for that as well.

It could be an optional thing. Not sure how they'd market that one though. Maybe like they do carbon fiber add-ons.

I am not sure if anyone saw this article but a week ago it was announced that the Mini added four more models bringing the total to seven which can be ordered with a MT.

https://www.bmwblog.com/2023/02/10/m...tional-models/

They are still offering a course at the BMW Performance Center in Thermal, CA on how to drive with a MT.

https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/11/04/m...e-stick-shift/

I guess that those of you who have a MT Z4 on their wish list will have to suffer a little longer.

I'm surprised to see the JCW convertible isn't included in the list.

The latest info is posted to the thread and looks pretty definitive and unlikely to change any time soon.

I have a hard time believing that there won't be exemptions for special interest vehicles, etc. .....all those million dollar Porsche 918's, Lamborghinis and Ferraris going to the landfill then? ....can't see it. Maybe they'll just tax the crap outta them (likely) or perhaps won't allow them to be driven on public roads without a special event permit or maybe limit them to track days but I can't see an all out, 100% encompassing ban....in Europe or anywhere else...esp. the US. I'd say time will tell, but that may be past my expiry date.
