Very Important Discussion--please Read

Saturday night @ 2AM My phone rings------thats never good news...well it was and wasn't.....My Son--his wife and another Couple (She is Pregnant) were driving in Southhampton in Long Island, NY
At 11:30 PM Out of Nowhere coming the other way a Woman driving a Land Rover Drifts over (At least 60 MPH) into my Sons Lane...he tries to Swerve but can't fully and takes a shot in the Drivers side and he lands right side up in Some Bushes...the four of them Crawl out......All shaken up of course---my daughter in Law Bleeding from a Fractured nose and the Pregnant woman in the back has a Broken Ribs..
They were transferred by Ambulance to The Hospital....went through Body Scans and no other injuries were Visible.
They are all shaken up-Bruised and Sore--resting at home...
Why am I telling you this--well they were driving an X5 which they say was totalled....I have pictures but its horrifying to look at.
The Woman who hit them was no where to be found-----they found her 1 Hour later in the Woods.......and of course this was her 3rd DWI----no Drivers license..she was thrown in Jail released late Yesterday..... and has a court appearance next week.....
How in Gods Creation is she still on the Road----# 2 she escaped without a mark of course,(3) her husband has a DWI Conviction also and they are of course Politically connected out in the Hamptons.....
Where is the Justice??????? My poor son because of No-Fault has to lay out of his pocket all the money to the Drs.(90% of the specialists do not accept No-Fault) because of No-Fault Insurance in NY--with no Guarantee he will be successful getting money throught the courts which could take 5 Years....She has no Drivers license--thus the only Insurance coverage is the person who owns the Land Rover...
MY POINT OF THIS WHOLE STORY IN THIS FORUM IS THAT X5 SAVED THERE LIVES----ANYTHING SMALLER THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ROAD PIZZA..
I have a new 335XI coming in on December 2nd and now my entire Family only will Drive a Large Truck.........
Sorry everybody about the Rambling--but its been a tense few days along with the fact that my Wife is Dying from ALS......Harvey T. Gluck

I think your son already posted about this, horrible thing to have happened, but at least they're relatively OK. Sorry to hear about your wife.

I'm glad to read that your relatives are all alive. You don't need to convince me of the excellence of the X5. Your story is another sad case of a two-speed justice system: one for the rich and one for the rest of us.
