Exclamation As a tech, here are some crazy things I've seen

There must be a bunch of other techs here on the forums?

Here is a place to post pics of crazy/stupid shit you see at work.

Here is a good start.

How the hell do you accelerate when your accelerator is buried in carpets/mats/old newspapers?

Thought this was funny too.

If you drive too long with the check engine light on, the car tries harder to make you notice?!?!?

"HEY! Look down here idiot!"

I work in a body shop and am amazed how people treat their cars. Just did a Prius that should have been totalled because of the interior smell. Awful!

I would say almost 75% of cars have a service engine soon or oil change overdue indication on dash.

Today was the best. In the door pocket was a water bottle, soda bottle, and small bottle of.......maple syrup.

About 12 years ago I leased the wife a new Escalade. The lease on the Lincoln Navigator had a week to go. My then 7 year old daughter and I needed to take the family cat -- Boo Boo -- to the vet. Boo Boo hated to be driven anywhere but my daughter assured me she would hold him in her lap and everything would be fine.

I decided we'd take the brand new Escalade. We got in the SUV and Boo Boo freaked out. In a moment of clarity I told my daughter we'd better take the Navigator instead. So we unloaded and got in the Navigator for the 3 mile trip to the vet.

Boo Boo, of course, escaped from my daughter's lap and jumped into the third row seats. And while there he unloaded whatever the skunk-like scent is that cats can unload when they're scared or simply pissed off. A smell that was so foul that we gagged all the way to the vet's and back.

Needless to say, we didn't drive in the Navigator again until I drove it to Vista Lincoln Mercury in Woodland Hills a week later. I dropped off the SUV, handed the keys to the guy in the lease return department, and told him it was in perfect condition.

I didn't mention the smell. Which by then had only gotten worse even though the car was aired out for a week.

I shudder to think what my wife would have done to me had I driven Boo Boo to the vet in the new Escalade.

We had a car that had lesbian sex playing cards and they were stashed on the dash where you could see them from outside.

We also had a wine "distributor" that had about 50 full bottles of wine in the trunk. Car got rear ended and broke about 5 or 6. Trunk was soaked and we had to find storage for the remaining bottles.

I'm amazed that any part of an MGB would stop a bullet.

It was embedded in the tonneau cover, which was folded up in the trunk.

Broken belt on the outer half. Metal belts sticking out of the sidewall and the middle of the tread. Does not show well in pics, but the tire is bulging out about 2-3" above the rest of the tread.

Tire was previously repaired. Water must have gotten into the belts and weakened them until a good pothole finally broke one.

I thought it was some fiber optic "accident".

The wife drives her X3 like that, with the BMW liner covering half the gas pedal. Told her a million times she's gonna kill herself with it but she never listens.
