Although I really like this one, I'm not sure if this one turned out good or not...

I think the background is fine...I find the on focus plant on the left to be an issue...only because you then have two subject matters in the picture and they eyes are wondering between the two.

thanks guys. Joey, that plant just happened to be in the same plane as the girl, unfortunately. She actually wanted it that way.

Cute girl and nice smile in decent light. I'd probably crop tight on her.

Scent of Summer by mkrepp, on Flickr

Does this look overexposed to anyone else? I do all my editing on my iMac and my images look fine. However, when browsing on my MacBook Pro, the images look lighter, almost on the verge of being overexposed. Maybe I'll do a screen shot from the two and compare.

I have dual identical monitors in my office and there is a difference just between them. I've tried to tune it out, but I can't quite get it. Then my laptop is quite bright, so images look different there as well. It's hard switching screens.

In answer to your question, I think maybe the dog could be a half stop darker, but that's just personal preference. Others may think differently.

Matt,
Just calibrated today on a Hp monitor, the dog looks just about perfect but the background is really dark. I wouldn't even come close to saying it is blown.

Seths a commie.

I'm still making out the color on the labs coat, and i know how white those coats can get, so I think your exposure is about where it needs to be, I think if you went a little darker on the dog, the image wouldn't be as candid.
