Originally being from New Orleans, these are some of my favorite art pieces in our house. Signed prints from artist James Russell who passed away in 1994. I have acquired a 5th one I still need to get framed and hung.

Here is my small (by Texas standards!) family room. Excuse the mess as we just got home from watching Santana at JazzFest (awesome show!) and my son was feeding himself and studying for his ACT test. Small but very livable!

Edit: Keep in mind the house is 130 years old!

Glad you can appreciate its quaintness. And yes, built around 1890 as far as we can tell from the records. Fully renovated and modern but this is very typical of old homes in NOLA. Ours is two stories, 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath and about 2,600 square feet...

Edit: If our Russian member Ivan is into art he might recognize the paintings. Both are Russian artists.

Thanks buddy! I absolutely love our hand scraped dark hardwood floors. Timeless indeed.
Haha!!! Yeah these couches are really nice. But certainly no friend to dark denim jeans. Fortunately, I use a spray on Scotch Guard that has worked very well and not effected the suppleness of the leather.

Thanks! I use to paint these for my friend's homes. Whatever size canvas and whatever decor color/theme of which room it was going in. I use to get $500 a pop

I do business with a lot of lighting design companies in the NY-Metro area. Possibly the most significant thing I've learned from working with these "LCs" is how much the right lighting makes things looks dramatically better.

My suggestion is if you have some nice art, make the effort to showcase it properly. Find some fixtures that illuminate the piece correctly, and feature high-CRI luminaries. It's worth it.

Great suggestion. Sometimes it not practical like in the case of near ceiling mounted art like in my lounge. But I agree with you.

This has actually been my favorite piece so far, I needed something large to fill up the wall, finding something this size (3'x10') was very cost prohibitive, but I think this came out well.

That's gotta be in the basement! No way would the wifey allow that...unless you're single or a tyrant lol
