just keep in mind, as you buy nice glass for the camera, alot of the higher end glass will out last the bodies by years. so once you "buy into a system" you are pretty much heading down the line in progression to the higher end bodies of that make.

with the canon there are 2 mounts, EF and EF-S. the EF-S is meant for the crop bodies and wont fit on the full frame stuff like the 5D and 1D series.

i have 2 main lenses. a normal zoon 17-55 f/2.8 IS which is about 1k, but on the EF-S mount. when i go to a FF body, i wont be able to use it anymore, but thankfull they maintain some resell value. the other is 70-200 f/2.8 IS ( abit more than the other lens ) but i plan to keep for ever untill it breaks or they make a serious upgrade.

but then the great thing about nikon, is you're not limited to lenses made in just recent years. you're able to use lenses made all the way back to the 1950s. which is good for your budget as well as your creative expression: manual focus and exposure forces you to actually think about your shot. which is good, especially when you're just starting out.

if it's too cheap to be real, it's a scam.

those two lenses are worth about $20 and $50, respectively. everything else is crap that they're able to buy in bulk and just throw in to your order to make the asking price look like a great deal.
you should definitely pass.

go to bhphoto.com

I see... makes sense I dont think ill buy it from E-Bay but my friend mentioned it to me so I thought Id check it out! Thanks for input and the site! I went over to Best Buy and they had the D90 under the shelf so I had to ask to chek it out and I liked it a lot but they sell it for more than bhphoto.com and other sites ive seen! They did have the XSI that Pops mentioned to me and Dude, that Camera was also VERY nice! The two have their differences of course, such as megapixels and sensor size and such, but I like the features of the D90 a bit more but therye both Nice Comparisons!

I agree with above.

Go snag your D90 (even though I'm a canon snob) and then hit up the mac store. I don't know why you think you'd need a $2000 laptop. I got a basic Macbook then spent $100 on an external HD and upgraded the RAM to its full capacity. If you're worried about screen size... mine is fine however maybe you should consider an iMac instead, just about the same price.

which ever camera you go with, enjoy it and love it. just dont get ripped off by the better than you expect deals. look at B&H photo, and adorama as the main places to judge online prices off. both are reputable brick and mortar stores in NYC with great prices. if you are finding a "much" better deal than they can throw out by more than $150, its most likely a scam.

I personally say ditch the PS3 (at least for now)... a nice new camera and new mac with CS3/4 should keep you busy enough to not even have time to play it.

So ive decided like UDub, my brother and a few other said, im ditching the PS3 and getn the D90 and in about a month or 2 ill get a new laptop... I will go look at the IMac's and other laptops to see whats out there for a good price cuz like UDub said Workn 2 jobs, having a D90 and a new Mac with CS3/4 I def wont be having time to play the PS3 lol. Even now I spend most of my time using Adobe Photoshop (even done some stuff for 1Addicts Members as Im sure Rodi knows) so yea yall sure do know what yall are talkn bout! And I may end up buying the D90 from bhphoto cuz so far the stores in town sell it for more than what they sell it for and havent found anything cheaper than bhphoto yet either.

nice dude... also remember when looking at the Mac's, just because its not a laptop doesn't mean its not good. I had a $3000 17" Powerbook G4. I had to have the big screen for photo stuff but when I went to go upgrade to the new G5 Macbook pro, the sales guy offered this to me: If you think you want a big screen for editing thats fine but 1. The technology on the macbooks is pretty frickin nice, especially when you upgrade the RAM (which I did) and the iMacs offer a beautiful huge screen and excellent performance at a fraction of the cost of a Macbook Pro. I ended up getting a Black 2.0 GHz Macbook AND a 20" 2.4GHz iMac for $700 less than I would have spent on getting the Macbook Pro.

I'd say unless you absolutely need a computer to bring around for school/work and all that, skip the laptop and go for the iMac. You can get a 20" 2.4GHz for $1199 and all you have to do is spend like $200 at Crutial.com to upgrade it to 4gb of RAM and make it a beast. or if you WANT to drop like $2k, get that and a $999 white Macbook for portability. Even that route, you'll still saving about $1000 over buying a 17" Macbook Pro that is in my opinion too bulky of a laptop anyway.
