my contract is coming up soon so that means i'll be getting a new phone soon! Just wanted to ask some advice from you guys, what's a nice phone to get nowadays that works for T-mobile carrier. I'm currently using an unlocked iPhone 3G (8GB).

I'm looking at picking up the HTC Pro Touch 2 (HTC Tilt 2 on AT&T). Touch/type, probably the top-of-line Windows Mobile device out there. Keyboard is fantastic, talk is fantastic (including conference calls/speakerphone), and Windows appointment scheduling is a breeze as well.

I don't like the HTC phones, they slow down quite a bit over time. Had 2 experiences with 2 previous HTC phones, never again.

How did you use iphone on tmobile? Only edge isnt it?

I would suggest the HTC touch pro 2. I have G1 and no complaint so far. My contract just ended this month. Thinking about getting the droid or the iphone on ATT

How much does Tmobile charge for the new phones when your contract has ended?

I just got my 9700 and it's amazing. I've been a hardcore iphone user before but blackberry is the way to go for me.

if you sign another contract you won't be able to keep the same phone #. Not only that, you will have to be charged an activation fee.

I had HELIO for 2 years ... don't ask why. I thought they were cool for having 3G when no one did back then. And some features they had. After my contract ended I went to ATT I told them I want to keep the same number. They didn't charge me for that... and I was able to.

OMG, I just noticed... When I left HELIO they sent me a check for 100$ ... and now that I remember... When I left T-mobile (before HELIO) they sent me 100-something bucks.

At first I thought they were mistaken checks. But I cashed them anyways... Is that the reason why? Cause I did not upgrade

i don't know if same here in TX though. if they don't have phones i want, i usually buy from another place unlocked. they then suggest me to end contract and re-do contract. have been using same number since 3 contracts.
