nice composition! however, theres this like black object under the long bench on the left. my eye keeps wandering there. also, theres a white object in the tree line in the center which also distracts me a bit

i'd like it better horizontal. my eyes keep wondering to the extreme top and bottom searching for something more interesting than the center.
i'd try a natural horizontal orientation and step in much closer. at least throw in the assertion that the viewer is actually there.

I'd put more focus on the ground and it's texture or perhaps the sky, I'm just not sure what you are driving my eyes to focus on. It's a great shot but the horizon in the middle is just catching my eye, shift it up just an inch or so...

My thoughts exactly. The foreground texture is great and those clouds look menacing. I would have liked to see more of the clouds shifting the horizon to the lower third. Regardless, great shot!

i think the image works best as is; the sky and ground are nearly divided 50/50 by the treeline and lake. the two people drew my attention immediately and i dont think they wouldnt stand out as much if the image was horizontal

I'd also like to see a bit more contrast too... try a stronger curve maybe? maybe something along the lines of this? (ps don't hate me for editing your pic). |

I think I see a water bottle on the farthest right bench; I would clone that out if I were you. I'd also do some more burning/vignette on the top and bottom to bring the focus in a little closer on the subject.
Anyway, the picture is great as it is well done.
