Bmw Cs Concept

Whats up yall?? I know this is the E90post, and it's all about the three...which I thuroughly am in love with..the e92 in specific. However, as this Concept has just come to the presses attention a few weeks ago, I thought it might be intersting to talk about. The CS has many speculations surrounding it, one being that it is the next generation and evolution of the 8 series. I have been a fan of the 850 since I was a little boy, and always wanted one

Anyways I thought I would post a picture comparison to open discussion to see how deserving this new Concept would be of the renewed 8 series moniker. Without further adew....The original ALMIGHTY E31 850... (in both CI and CSI flavor)

BMW CS CONCEPT:

Man...the lines on that E31 850CSI are still sexy to me. While even though the 850 is under powered by todays standards, and maybe not as quick either, it's still one of my all time favorite BMW's. It's practically the car that started my passion for BMWs (when I was like 6) to be honest.

This CS Concept...ummmm...where to begin...I guess first off, when I first looked at the car I wasn't digging it...Sure I like the front end, and that rear is pretty sexy. The car is really low slung, which is awesome and give it a mean stance. I can somewhat even see some kind of resemblane in the wide grille that reminds me of the 850. However, while I like the body lines of the car they look like they belong of the Dodge Charger rather than the BMW. Maybe this is why I think the same thing about this car as I do the current "Charger"...and as I care more about what BMW does with their line up...I would say they same thing to them that I have said about the Charger since I first laid eyes on it. "It would look SOOO much better if they just shortened the wheel-base a smidge and made it a proper COUPE.

I know this car is just a concept...but looking at the last picture of the designing mold (whatever you wanna call it) makes me smile, and dream of a new 8 series. Without the rear doors visible, the profile and all around look of this car would be great for bringing the E31 back in my opinion. Just, and I guess this is the conclusion I've been getting to, I'm all about this CS being the new 8 as long as they A.) Chop those rear doors or at least offer a 2 door coupe option....and B.) Open the middle part of the front bumperup and get rid of the F360 style front end.....haha and those Eye-lids. If not...I say NAYY to thee being dubbed the NEW 8 SERIES.

Yeah sorry for the long post fellas, I've been brewing over this in my head for days now, and I just had to tell someone my thoughts...and I figured what better people to discuss this with, than my fellow BMW forum compadres.

Am i the only one who really doesn't like this car? the kidney grills are way to big and the headlights are just way off. I think bmw's are the best looking cars esp like the 6 and 7 series. This car just reminds me of some jap concept car.

I wanted this as my first car but the v8 engine because BMW said the 850's V12 was like a jet and took forever to take off. Best BMW.

Oh man the 8 series was such a classic. Still looks sick now.

How about BMW just come out with a new 8 series with essentially the same body save for a few updates?

Oh hell yeah, I'd be all about that. I'm a fan of the last picture I posted being the new 8...just NO REAR DOORS and a shorter wheelbase altogether. Slap a V-12 as powerful as BMW's old powerplant in the Mclaren F1 in it, and that thing would be a haus!
