T,

Post some pics of your car in the new wheels. Too bad I couldn't stay longer to see the whole setup. Looks very cool, understated and unique. Like it.

As a matter of interest, what offset did the rims have? Any need for spacers as well?

ks, in fact you will be seeing the whole thing next time as I should have also got the suspension replaced. A point of no return as the rims are too large and not a shining ring, so the car has to be lowered. Honestly, it is not funny at all but good experience. The offet is 35 front 40 rear. Actually, a bit too unique, already exceeding my taste but my wife seems to like them.

Wow, 40 at the back. Guess this is needed given the 9.5 inch wheels. Looks good though.

At least you have the comfort of having a wife with an interest in cars. Mine couldn't care less and thinks it's all a waste of money changing this and that

Look forward to see your car soon. Fingers crossed, mine will arrive end April.

I wanted to try out the topspeed of the 320d but it had snow tires on which has a maximum speed rating of 190km/h (TR). I think I was very crazy by pushing it to 222km/h ! On paper the 320d is able to do 225km/h which I have no doubt about it.

I've also tested it's 0-100km/h performance a few times since it's got timer function on the i-drive. I just hit 4000rpm ( after 4000rpm, there is no power, it's like the car is in neutral!) Then as the rpm climbs to 4000rpm. I just DROP the clutch (of course I have turned off the DTC or DSC traction control and also turn off the AC) The car will spin a little bit and I shift at 4000rpm on 1st and 2nd gear. My best time was 7.9s. The 1st gear is especially too tall because I really need to shift very fast to avoid getting past 4000rpm (which has no power!) and I will need to shift to 3rd before it can hit 100km/h.

Nurburgring Nordschleife! I had fun there.....

Now that meets (and related threads) seem to be more and more popular and often, we ask that future meet threads be placed in the regional forums for organization purposes. Thanks!
