About 95% complete. Tried 2 screens but you really can't race with the bezel down the middle so I broke down and bought a 3rd 32" curved monitor. This thing is now huge but it's amazing to drive!

Definitely seeing a lot of nice rigs here! I decided to go the VR route since I don't have the space for triples. Now I actually have a hard time adjusting to screens since the depth perception is just not there.

Recently picked up a M4 GT3 skin for the Fanatec McLaren V2 wheel. Top notch quality from LovelyStickers. And yes, I realize the irony of not being able to see it in VR.

My "interim" setup till I can get my hands on a PSVR2. Finally got the Fanatec DD Pro shipped (actually came earlier than expected). Also considering adding a clutch pedal and H-shifter.

^ nice setup. I'm thinking of doing the same dd pro + gt omega cockpit. you should get the shifter and load cell pedal. that way your brake pedal feels more realistic and is pressure sensitive/firm rather than being like a throttle pedal.

my only hold up is trying to find a PS5 at retail price.

You all have some pretty amazing rigs. I'm currently researching how to build my own OSW DD wheel. If anyone has done the small or large MIGE and know where i can find a STM32F407G-Disc1 board id really appreciate it. Also may need help setting it up once i get everything.

Great, I'm trying to get one too, but it's going to take a while. Question: what do you play with on mobile instead? I usually look for racing games online on https://crazyfunnygames.online/ Do you use any special hardware for your phone or tablet?

Here is mine. 99% of my driving skills come from this. It's incredible how a good driving sim can prepare you to be fast at real circuit.
For example, no one could believe this was my first time ever on track with a car. it's near 5 years ago.

I use a Moonkeydriver F1/GT convertible Seat, only iRacing sim and some good hardware stuffs.

Very nice run Vincenzo. You could see some real progression through the run as you gained confidence. There is no doubt sim-racing builds real world skills.

Not a build, but not worth creating a thread, but what does the Buttkicker do? Does it just cause vibration feeling? Is it worth the $200 or whatever it was priced?

Easily the best bang for your buck on a sim rig. That assumes you have a very solid rig (think 80/20 or steel) to attach it to.

There are a few different software options to drive a buttkicker, but for the most part they will read telemetry from the sim and use it to generate effects that will transmit through the buttkicker. That allows you to feel things like road texture, rumble strips, impact, engine rpm, gear changes etc.

If you are thinking about buying a Buttkicker setup right now, you might want to look at the latest releases from them. They just announced a new Gamer Plus and a Gamer Pro. The Gamer Plus is mostly a repackaged Gamer2 with a slightly different amp. The Gamer Pro has a much larger piston in the shaker so in theory it should create a stronger response. That might only be important if you have a very heavy rig setup. Think motion system etc. For a typical stock aluminum or steel rig the Gamer Plus or Gamer 2 will provide plenty shaking.

The more important recent announcement from BK was their HaptiConnect software. That provides their own telemetry-driven effects rather than relying on 3rd party software, or the sim itself in the case of iRacing's LFE feature.

Overall, having a Buttkicker installed has been a huge improvement in immersion for me. I would recommend it to anyone with a suitable rig.

p.s. I have pre-ordered the Gamer Pro to replace my Gamer2. If you are interested in saving some cost and think the Gamer2 would be a good fit for you, just let me know and I'll reach out once I receive my Gamer Pro. I'll give you a good deal on it.

Gotya.

I actually only have a home made wood base right now (photos coming tomorrow when my monitor shows up). It's very solid and sturdy right now, but not a metal or alum base. I can make anything attach to it, but not sure how it would perform on a wood base.

I didn't want to drop the $$$ on a base until I knew it was going to be something I was going to continue to use for more than a month. I built it based off the ASR1 rig.

EDIT: After some quick searching folks say if it is mounted directly to the support the seat sits on it should be fine, so maybe thats something I'll look at.

Got my trial rig set up. I decided to build this instead of buying something to see if I actually use it longer than a month. Used the same design and dimensions of the ASR1. So far everything is solid with no wiggle. Might move my soundbar down and take some height out of the vertical posts. It was originally built for a 50" TV but that was too much for the eyes. I also need to add a shifter arm, but I've been using flappy paddles so far.

ASUS G14 laptop, RTX3060, Ryzen 9 5900HS, 16GB
Gigabyte 34" Ultrawide
Oculus Quest 2
Logitech G920
NRG Carbon seat out of my truck

I have AC, Project Cars, Dirt 2.0 for sims/simcades, and Horizons 5. So far they each play 60+fps without issue.
