He is 34. Maybe you are correct since he physically looks much older 40+.

Wins, podiums, poles, fastest laps, etc, are totally irrelevant in a F1 championship. The champion is the one with most points. Even if by 1/2 point. Keke was champion with only 1 win. Barely. Verstappen –a brilliant driver– finished the 2021 championship with most points because Massi failed to apply the racing rules correctly at the last race. Why is it so difficult to understand that?

The Mercedes pitstop strategy failed completely , because they didn't called HAM to pit for new soft tyres just like MAX did ..

HAM would even have kept the lead if he pitted just like MAX did !
HAM is been screwed by his own Mercedes team .
The word was : Staying out !
Period.

Unfortunately for you hammy's Massi applied the rules correctly at the time. There is a difference between will and shall. That's why the wording of the rule was changed. Bottom line, scHAM isn't sporting the #1 this year

The "469" figure for led laps (as well as the "395.5" and "585.5" figures for WDC and WCC points) could have been higher if the main competitor hadn't committed an act during the British 2021 Grand Prix judged by the FIA race stewards as "predominantly at fault". 0 points, a wrecked car ($1.8 million of damage) and a visit to the hospital. The red flag because of the crash allowed sufficient time for repairs to the culprit's car. And "Getting harder to follow Valtteri" was later followed by "And team order: do not fight with Lewis" and "Okay Valtteri, we invert the cars into turn 15 this lap" team orders to ensure to bag 25 P1 points. So yeah, there you go with your "points".

The 2021 F1 season lasted 22 Grand Prix races (and 3 Sprint races) instead of 1.

Merc definitely have more race pace in Canada than most were expecting. The last 15 laps, after the safety car. Lewis finished 7sec down to Max. With Max going all out, Merc was between .4 -.5 sec/lap down to RB race pace.

How is it irrelevant?

I love how over the course of an entire season, you're ignoring all the bonuses Lewis got and hyperfocus on a single, and correct, decision made by Massi.

Only a Lewis fan would ever support ending a world championship race with two drivers equal on points under a safety car. They should have never been equal to begin with. It's pathetic... That car had the pace to overtake Max again at the end of the straights even on old tires.

I'll repeat this for the millionth time:

The best driver on the grid won the WDC and the best team on the grid won the WCC.

I'm not sure , but think it was the YouTube "The Eighth and One" video .

It's been removed from the YouTube channel by a Formule One Copyright Infringement.

It is more relevant to talk about how Russell has CURRENTLY out-perfomed 7 time World Champion Hamilton instead of whether or not Hamilton should have/could have won LAST YEAR'S championship.

I also like to point out how some Hamilton fans talk about how Hamilton "destroyed" Alonso in 2007 even though they ended up with the same number of points.

I'm curious how they would describe the performance differential between Russell and Hamilton now, LOL.

Or how Lewis would have eight already, if it wasn't for Nico. His last truly competitive teammate...until now.

I don't care about how anyone would explain it. I only care about how our esteemed friend MKSixer would explain it.

The official explanation by Mercedes and HAM: experimental W13 setups for HAM and, based on his vast experience, HAM giving feedback to the team about those experimental W13 setups.

However, it looks like months of experimenting fails to remedy the fact that Mercedes rookie RUS keeps finishing each race in the top 5 (unlike HAM), is regularly outperforming HAM in qualies, is currently leading HAM by 34 points in the WDC and seems to physically cope better with the porpoising antics of the W13.

At some point you run out of explanations for the finding that the current young and modestly paid RUS wingman is squeezing more out of the W13 than the current old and lavishly paid HAM team leader.

Rendez-vous at Silverstone: interesting how both will handle their home race. Hopefully no team orders. Let them race for what they're worth on their home grounds.
