Killahsharksjc's SQ build ..
For those of you who don't know me .. Im Jesse from Simplicity In Sound in
San Jose/Milpitas CA.. This build is of my own personal E90.. Goals are to achive good sound quality in my everyday driver and have a little bump in the trunk. Equipment consist of Headunit : Initially I installed a Alpine HD149BT single din. It has some functions that I don't like so as of yesterday I swapped it with an Pioneer 80Prs .. no wire harness was needed . I soldered all the wires to the factory harness. Ran all new wires to all the factory speaker locations... No speaker wires or signal cables were ran down. the passenger side of the car . The right speaker wires are routed across the dash then down the drivers side. These cars are notorious from picking up noise. Tweeters are Morel MT250 . Mounted in the stock locations . They snap right in . =) .. Mid is Morel Hybrid 4 .. Routered up some speaker baffles out of MDF and painted them black. Midbass are the Gladen Audio Underseat woofers . Subwoofer : Illusion Audio C12XL Amps are Arc Audio XDi v2 1200/6 and XDi V2 1100.1 .. Amps are mounted under the rear deck for a sheath look and to maintain most of my trunk Processing is an Arc Audio PS8. ( I'll snaps some pictures in the morning) [/URL[/URL[/URL [/[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL well there it is ... Nice work for a DIY. I'd be too scared to approach this myself

I didn't like that the Alpine only had one USB , that the usb didn't stay where it left off when u turn the power off.. it started back at track one on album one.. And the response time on skipping tracks on the alpine was a bit laggy .. The pioneer is a tad smoother on the top end .... They both sound good.

Not sure what you are asking. If you need someone to recone your sub for you you can send it in to psi or you can do it yourself it's not complicated. I'm not sure I would bother reconing a type r though. Since it only has a 2.5" voice coil there isn't much they can do to upgrade it.

would you recommend the Gladen upgrade for somebody that wanted more low end but doesn't want a trunk sub? difficulty? any extra mounting parts needed?
I don't need single digit frequency or chest pounding bass, but definitely more than my logic 7 setup provides |

Haven't heard the Gladens but the Jehnerts
Haven't heard the Gladens but the Jehnerts are a audphile
speaker very accurate warm and smooth. I like mine a lot. If you are old school and want a balanced system they are great and you might even think your system is a little bass heavy. I have Morels in the doors and Jehnerts in the floors powered by a Jl 600/6 its beyond my expectations. I can make myself deaf pretty fast with this setup. I have heard really good things about the mosconi 120.4 dsp with the Gladen kits. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=445266 But its going to be hard to do with Logic 7 as a starting point |
