VSC-2 (Variable Sound Controller) is a direct plug-in-play exhaust valve controller designed to allow remote controlled tuning of your vehicles exhaust sound at any time. The controller mounts directly to the valve actuator motor, located near the muffler. Control is simple and instant, using either of the two provided high quality keyfobs, or through integration with the BMW HomeLink system. The VSC-2’s electronics allow switching between open and closed modes in as little as one hundredth of a second, up to 200 times faster than other control methods. CG Precision’s VSC-2 is the only direct exhaust valve controller designed to create the same signals that the factory BMW computer uses to control the electronic exhaust flap for the M3 and M4. Benefits to this design concept are simple, easy control of the valve without having to scroll tediously through the BMW display settings, remove interior trim pieces and splice wires for installation, or tamper with BMW Canbus and OBDII systems. The VSC-2 controller does not trigger a check engine light and is extremely easy to install/uninstall.

Product Application

The VSC-2 is a must when paired with high flow downpipes or other exhaust modifications but even with the factory exhaust system, VSC-2 users enjoy better sound quality on startup, a more continuous, pleasurable soundtrack during acceleration, better driver feedback, more exhaust burble on deceleration, and the ability to keep the exhaust valve open or closed at any time in any driving mode. This allows the driver complete control and enables driving in comfort mode while still enjoying the music made by the twin turbo engine, or driving in sport + mode with zero drone. The standard VSC-2 defaults the exhaust valve to the open position allowing for the most noticeable improvement to exhaust sound with no action required from the driver, and closes the valve when the controller is activated. The unit can be ordered with any choice of Open, Closed or Automatic (Factory control) for the default setting or the activated setting. If non-standard operation is desired, please specify default setting and activated setting upon ordering. The VSC-2 will revert to the default setting any time the car is powered off, and can be switched to the activated setting any time the car is powered on. The engine does not need to be started to open and close the valve, enabling quite cold starts even on vehicles with exhaust modifications. The VSC-2 can be used on the following exhaust systems:
