Its sitting in my wish list on Amazon right now Generally accepted as the best wide-angle lens for the aps-c Canon's right now (at least from what I have read and some pretty good images on Flikr-roo)

i'd have the Tokina 11-16 but it's not FX compatible

and the 14-24 is @ $1600...........

sooo many things i can do with $1600 though:

1) cam the SRT8
2) get some staggered 19's
3) get a 14-24
4) get some coilovers for the SRT8
5) get a 55" LED 120hz Samy (already have the 52" TOC 120hz LCD Samy)
6) trip back to D-Land with the kids
7) hookers and cocaine

That's mostly caused by tilting the sensor back in relation to the subject buildings. Spending a fortune on a lens would not have prevented that. (Spoken by one tha's spent fortunes on lenses). The image is sharp, vignetting is very moderate and the small issues could be easily fixed in post, if desired.

I'm always interested to see peoples' reactions to this kind of huge distortion (leaning flagpoles and leaning buildings). I take it out of my images, but lots seem to prefer this "artificial" perspective. Khaye1 seems to like it.

not necessarily true.. A tilt-shift lens would remove that distortion..

Yes, but only if you keep the sensor square to the subject. Half the people here probably don't know what we're talking about. BTW, Canon's 17mm TS-E lens is stunning when used simply as a wide-angle lens, without using the tilt or shift functions. I was thinking of getting one, but will probably get a super-wide to wide zoom.

I wouldn't call it "massive", around 60%. It flew straight over me at maybe 100-feet, this is probably 100-by ground and 100-ft up.

The light was excellent and I was able to use ISO 400 so that lots of details survived the crop. This one would have withstood well over 100%. The pixel-pitch of the 7D's sensor and the 500mm lens are a match made in heaven. The 7D may not have the best high-ISO performance, but it's preservation of detail in cropping is one of the very best sensors available, bar none.
