Thanks guys. It's post-processed. Just a duplicate layer with a mask and a Gaussian blur. The saturation and vibrance are ramped up ridiculously, but it works for miniatures. It just happened to be the perfect shot for that technique with the stand-alone building shot from above. A couple of people walking near the house would have been icing on the cake, but you can't have everything.

Thanks. i miss it too. Here's another one for you...

Same stretch of road as the first picture... you can see it twisting into the distance in the center background. REALLY wish i could have had the Z over there. Rented a Opel Astra GT... not a bad little car.

thats funny. those shots were taken about 20 minutes east of kitzingen. i remember Kitzingen well. My dad was stationed in Ansbach at hindenburg back in the early 70s when i was little ( i was born in ansbach). We would occassionally drive past Kitzingen or Illesheim on the way to visit family in Hochstadt (just east of Kitzingen). Being stationed in Germany in the late 60's thru late 80's was fantastic. Very good times.

Early to mid-90's for me! But still awesome.....everything really changed in ~'00 with the Al-Qaeda bombings in Africa....sigh Still love it though and I wish there was somewhere in America that had the same......vibe...for lack of a better word.

I was there in Schwabach from '82-'87 with the Army and then again '88-'89 with UPS. Virtually no speed limits on the autobahns then. Speed limits everywhere now. I owned a 633Csi when I was in the service. Great autobahn car.

Leaping coyote by dcstep, on Flickr

This is one of a series of seven shots of the coyote hunting. You can see the entire series here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dcstep/...n/photostream/

7D at 8-fps is hard to beat.

Not on that particular leap. The evening before I watched one successful hunt where the coyote laid down and took a nap after gulping down a couple of voles in short order. Here, I was hoping that he'd catch a ring-necked pheasant. (There was one hiding less than 20-feet from where it's hunting in this shot. Pheasant amaze me at how well they can hide in plain sight).

They seem to come up empty about 2/3d of the time. When they catch a vole (a mouse-like creature with a furry tail), they'll gulp in down in about three-seconds. They're well feed, as you can see. They've got voles, prairie dogs, pheasant, bugs and the occasional deer fawn to keep them fat and content.
