Msport Trim Check

I noticed a strange difference between the left and right side of the black gloss trim on the rear doors. Can you see how the right hand side sticks out 0.5cm further than the left? The left side fits flush with the body work, the right doesn't.

Does anyone elses do this of has mine not been fitted correctly at the factory?

The iPhone screen was impossible to see due to the sun, probably the angle of the pic is skewing the top part. I'll try tomorrow and get some better pics of it. For now, look at he closest part to the camera where it tapers. It's flush on the left side to the body work. Right side sticks out.

Here you go Ray... My left side is slightly out but it might push in if I try. Doesn't seem as bad as yours though.

Cheers mate, just what I was after. Yeah yours sits flush at the tapered end closest to the camera. The top section of the left side does flare out on yours but that could just be the camera angle.

It's got to go in soon anyway so will have it looked at then.

Any of you guys had your cars looked at for this? I have the same issue as mentioned in OP.

I went back in for a couple of issues and the dealer has assured me it's supposed to be like this..?

I am well hung!

Had to have the passenger side front door adjusted. Nearly every F30 I have seen has fit problems. I even had to adjust my bonnet by myself. Must admit it feels like the cars are thrown together. And, some of them have shockingly large panel gaps. Not good at all.

Having the doors well fitted and closing properly is essential to reduce wind noise problems. Mine is pretty damn good for its lack of wind noise.

It's not an issue, it is a problem. I do wish people would stop using the word issue incorrectly. Sorry, but the incorrect use of the word issue really bugs me no end. I am also guilty of doing the same, but have now stopped.

I specifically looked out for this on Friday. My car is not too bad but not 100% Will pick this up with the dealer during service.

Wow, totally forgot about this thread, sorry guys. Yes, I raised this "problem" when it was at the dealers last week and they are replacing the trim on the right side as it is not how it should be. The problem I've ran into is because the car model is so new, they aren't making these parts yet so they have had to order them specifically. I thought this strange as the Msport has been out for a fair while now so raised this with the service assistant. She said even though the parts are identical to say a 2012 320d Msport, the part numbers will be totally different for the 2014 335d, so it is in effect a completely new part.

@Ray335d:

I would have thought that just adjusting the latch which is attached to the B Pillar would have done the trick. Never allow a mechanic to address bodywork problems. They make a perfect hash of it.

Hmmm ok, I'll have a look in the morning... If it's easy I'll give it a go.

I have an issue with this.

In that English isn't a fixed language , there is no central body that determines the correct way as there is none. There is no L'Académie française equivalent for English.

Yes there is the OED and so forth but at best it is merely a guideline and one that continually changes.

If you knew what they meant why concern yourself with it?
